Chapter 11 - interval

Interval

Between Love and Promise

Somewhere between the past…

and the present…

There exists a moment.

A moment where everything is still.

But nothing is okay.

Jay stood in her room.

The lights were off.

Only the faint glow of the lamp beside her.

Her hands trembled slightly…

as she opened the drawer.

The same drawer.

The one she never let anyone touch.

Slowly…

she took everything out.

The chocolate wrapper.

The pen.

The keychain.

Every small thing…

he ever gave her.

Her fingers brushed over them gently.

Like they were alive.

Like they could feel her pain.

A tear fell.

Then another.

"I kept everything…"

she whispered.

Her voice breaking.

"I didn't lose a single thing…"

A soft laugh escaped her.

"But I'm losing you."

Silence.

Heavy.

Painful.

Her phone lay beside her.

His name still there.

Still the same.

Still hers.

But not for long.

Across the city…

Keifer stood on his balcony.

The night wind hitting his face.

His jaw clenched.

His hands tight.

His mind…

not quiet anymore.

"Marry him."

His own words echoed back.

He laughed bitterly.

"Yeah… right."

He ran a hand through his hair.

"She's mine…"

he muttered.

"Then why am I the one letting go?"

No answer.

Because there wasn't one.

Because love…

doesn't always win.

And promises…

don't always break.

Back in her room…

Jay picked up her phone.

Her fingers hovered over his name.

Should she call?

Should she hear his voice one more time?

Or would that make it harder?

She closed her eyes.

Tears slipping silently.

"I don't want to forget you…"

Meanwhile…

Keifer looked at his phone.

Same name.

Same silence.

"Call me…"

he whispered.

But it didn't ring.

And neither of them moved.

Because sometimes…

love isn't about running to each other.

It's about stopping yourself.

Even when it hurts.

Even when it breaks you.

And somewhere in that silence…

Two hearts waited.

Hoping…

for something impossible.

Because after this moment…

Nothing will be the same.

Not their love.

Not their lives.

Not their fate.

Because what comes next…

is not just separation.

It's a test.

Of love.

Of loyalty.

Of promises.

And the most painful question still remains—

What hurts more?

Breaking a promise…

Or breaking the person you love?

The answer…

is waiting.

Right after this.

To be continued… 💔🔥
