Chapter 3 - Teyvat’s Most Devoted Man

"The ones I killed earlier… Guuji Yae, you don't mind, do you?" Akira Shindo turned his head and glanced at Yae Miko beside him.

"Not at all." Yae Miko shook her head.

A group of bandits wasn't worth her concern. They had been tormenting the local people for a long time. In her eyes, killing them could even be considered a good deed.

"Mm." Akira Shindo nodded.

Perhaps it was the absolute confidence brought by the Herrscher of the Void's power—but he felt no discomfort whatsoever after killing someone.

"Guuji Yae, could you introduce Inazuma to me?" Akira Shindo said. "After all, I plan to stay here for quite some time."

"Along the way, I heard many citizens talking about something called the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree."

"Yes." Yae Miko nodded gently and caught a falling Sakura Bloom petal in her hand.

"Inazuma is one of the Seven Nations, a land ruled by the Electro Archon, the Raiden Shogun."

"The Raiden Shogun believes in Eternity. In pursuit of that ideal, she enacted both the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree."

"All connections with the outside world were sealed, and the Visions of the people were forcibly confiscated."

"The Sakoku Decree has greatly impacted Inazuma's economy and the lives of its people," Yae Miko said with a trace of sadness.

"As you can see, Inazuma today is already riddled with wounds."

"And my irresponsible old friend has hidden herself away in a corner, shutting herself off from the world."

"She left the entire nation to be managed by an unbearably dull puppet."

"But how could such a rigid puppet possibly govern a country properly?"

Yae Miko sounded somewhat indignant.

Inazuma was precious to her as well. How could she bear to watch it fall into such a state?

"Sounds like quite an irresponsible god," Akira Shindo said with a shake of his head.

Ahead of them lay Inazuma City.

It seemed the place he had landed earlier wasn't far from the city after all.

Just then, a small ball slowly rolled toward them, stopping right at Akira Shindo's feet.

Akira Shindo picked it up.

A little girl ran over, looking up at him expectantly. A few other children stood in the distance, watching shyly.

The little girl looked like a delicate porcelain doll, adorably cute. Her childish face was still filled with the joy of playing with friends.

The cheerful innocence contrasted sharply with the oppressive atmosphere of Inazuma City.

"Little one, is this your ball?" Akira Shindo crouched down and asked gently.

"Yes, handsome big brother! It's mine. I'm really sorry for bothering you," the girl said quickly.

"What a good girl."

Akira Shindo softly rubbed her head.

From his pocket, he pulled out a White Rabbit milk candy, tore open the wrapper, and handed it to her.

"Thank you, big brother!"

The girl popped the candy into her mouth. Feeling the sweet taste, she immediately broke into a bright smile.

"Watch this—big brother will show you a trick."

Looking toward a ball hoop nearby, Akira Shindo stood up.

The girl watched eagerly.

Akira Shindo tossed the ball.

It arced cleanly through the air and dropped perfectly into the hoop.

"Wow! Big brother is amazing!"

The girl clapped happily. For children, happiness could be that simple.

"Here, take these and share them with your friends. Big brother has something to do now."

As he spoke, Akira Shindo placed a handful of White Rabbit candies into her palm.

"Thank you, big brother! Bye-bye!"

The little girl ran off happily. After getting such delicious candy, she naturally wanted to share it with her friends.

Akira Shindo stood up—only to notice Yae Miko staring at him intently.

"What?" Akira Shindo asked curiously.

"Nothing," Yae Miko said, shaking her head. "I'm just a bit surprised. As a god, you can still get along so easily with children?"

"I quite like seeing the adorable smiles of well-behaved kids," Akira Shindo said with a smile.

After all, he himself was still young—basically a kid too.

As long as they weren't little troublemakers, human children were unbelievably cute.

"Alright then," Yae Miko said.

"Do you still have that candy from earlier?"

She extended her fair, jade-like hand.

"I've got two left."

Akira Shindo took the last two candies from his pocket and placed one into her hand.

"So sweet!"

Yae Miko put the candy into her mouth and revealed a soft, sweet smile.

"Mmm… A-Ah… Ei would probably like this flavor too."

"..."

Akira Shindo stared at her for a moment, slightly stunned.

In the game, Yae Miko was always sly and teasing.

When had she ever shown such a sweet expression?

But then again, the fox priestess was known for her countless facets. Seeing another side of her wasn't strange.

Still…

A sweet and gentle Yae Miko truly lived up to being a fox spirit.

Her beauty was intoxicating.

Ding~

Congratulations to the host for witnessing Yae Miko's stunning side and feeling amazed by it.

Unlocked Title Attribute Template: Teyvat's Most Devoted Man.

Title Effect:

You are the most devoted man in all of Teyvat. Being affectionate can also be a form of devotion.

You possess extremely high affinity with any opposite-sex individual who has a defined gender. As long as you do not violate their core principles, they will tend to trust you and become friends with you.

Your confessions to the opposite sex are more likely to be accepted.

If a confession succeeds, you will obtain all of that person's abilities.

"???"

Akira Shindo snapped out of his daze after hearing the system's voice.

His expression became strange.

The trigger conditions of this system were really… random.

But what kind of ability was "Teyvat's Most Devoted Man"?

And something this good actually existed?

After all, if you came to Teyvat and didn't get close to your wives, then what was even the point?

Akira Shindo glanced at Yae Miko again.

Sure enough, under the effect of his Teyvat's Most Devoted Man title, Yae Miko—who had been somewhat wary before—now seemed noticeably more relaxed.

"Up ahead is Uyuu Restaurant," Yae Miko suddenly said.

"It's almost time for a meal. Why don't we eat together?"

"The fried tofu at Uyuu Restaurant is exceptional."

"I've heard about fried tofu for a long time," Akira Shindo said, his eyes lighting up slightly.

"But I never had the chance to try it before."

"Today, I'd like to see what the fried tofu of this world tastes like."

He had wanted to try fried tofu for ages. Unfortunately, in his previous life he had never found a place that sold proper fried tofu—only the tofu puffs used in hot pot.

"But… I don't have any Mora," Akira Shindo sighed.

If he still had his inventory from his previous life, he'd have billions of Mora—more than enough to enjoy life freely in Teyvat.

"That's a small matter. I'll treat you," Yae Miko said casually.

"Why should Lord Akira Shindo trouble himself over something so trivial?"

Ever since the Teyvat's Most Devoted Man talent activated and she stopped acting so cautious around him, Yae Miko seemed to return to her mischievous self.

Even her way of addressing him had changed to the slightly teasing "Lord Akira Shindo."

"However, Mora isn't that easy to earn," Yae Miko continued with a sly smile.

"But if Lord Akira Shindo agrees to do me a favor…"

"Then all of your expenses in Inazuma from now on could be covered by the Grand Narukami Shrine."

"Oh?"

Akira Shindo's interest was instantly piqued.

Grand Narukami Shrine reimbursement?

Did that mean whenever he bought something, he could just say—

"Send the bill to the Grand Narukami Shrine."
