“What… might you mean by that, Baron?”
“I know it may sound absurd. But I truly cannot permit this marriage. Please understand, Your Grace.”
“As I said, why?” Hades asked hastily.
The baron hesitated for a moment before answering, “You may not know this, but we, Baron house Heathcliff, are a house that has sustained the light element for generations. In order to keep the prophecy from the first holy maiden Abela Heathcliff, we have the duty to keep our bloodline of light element.”
“I’m aware. But you were never intending to name Lady Heathcliff your heir, were you?” Hades’ voice rose and was slightly heated.
The baron flinched at his words. It was an aspect Hades obviously had to worry about as he investigated the Heathcliffs.
