Chapter 10 - THE TRAP IS SET

The next day felt… wrong.

Amara noticed it the moment she stepped into school.

Too many eyes on her.

Too many whispers.

Too much tension in the air.

Something was coming.

She could feel it.

Kian noticed it too.

As soon as she sat down, he leaned slightly toward her.

"You feel it?" he asked quietly.

Amara didn't look at him.

"Yes."

A pause.

"This isn't just gossip anymore," Kian added.

Amara's fingers tightened slightly around her pen.

"I know."

Before anything else could be said—

The classroom door opened.

Brielle walked in.

But this time…

She wasn't smiling.

Behind her were two school staff members.

Serious expressions.

No greetings.

The room went silent.

"Amara," one of the staff called.

"Please come with us."

The tone was different.

Not casual.

Official.

Kian frowned.

"What's going on?"

The staff didn't answer him.

Their attention remained on Amara.

Amara stood up slowly.

Her heart was calm…

But her mind was already racing.

"This is your doing," she said quietly, looking at Brielle.

Brielle didn't deny it.

She simply replied:

"You should've stayed hidden."

That was all the confirmation Amara needed.

"I'm coming," Amara said.

Kian stood up immediately.

"I'm coming too."

"No," one of the staff said firmly.

"This is not your matter."

Kian's jaw tightened.

Amara looked at him.

Just for a second.

And shook her head slightly.

Don't.

Kian didn't like it.

But he understood.

He sat back down slowly.

But his eyes never left her.

In the Administrative Office

The room felt colder than usual.

The principal sat behind his desk again.

This time…

Amara's father was there.

And Brielle's father.

This was no longer a school issue.

"Amara," the principal began.

"There has been a serious report made."

Amara remained standing.

Silent.

Brielle's father spoke next.

"We received information that you have been hiding critical details that could affect this institution."

Amara's eyes didn't move.

"Like what?"

A file was placed on the table.

Photos.

Documents.

Information.

Things that should not be here.

Amara's expression didn't change outwardly.

But inside…

She knew.

This wasn't just Brielle anymore.

This was bigger.

Her father finally spoke:

"I told you this would happen."

Amara looked at him.

"And I told you I could handle it."

His voice hardened.

"You're not handling anything."

Silence.

The principal cleared his throat.

"Until this is clarified, we may have to suspend you."

That word landed heavily.

But Amara didn't react.

Instead, she asked:

"Who gave you this information?"

No one answered immediately.

But she already knew.

Her eyes shifted slightly…

Toward Brielle's father.

Connection made.

Brielle wasn't acting alone.

Outside…

Kian stood in the hallway, pacing slightly.

Something felt off.

Too serious.

Too sudden.

"This isn't normal," he muttered.

His phone buzzed.

A message.

Unknown number.

"If you want to help her… come to the back gate."

Kian's eyes narrowed.

Trap?

Or chance?

He didn't hesitate.

He moved.

At the back gate…

The area was quiet.

Too quiet.

Kian stepped closer carefully.

Then—

A voice spoke.

"You came faster than I expected."

Kian turned.

Brielle stepped out.

This time…

No smile.

No games.

"Where is she?" Kian asked immediately.

Brielle crossed her arms.

"Busy dealing with consequences."

Kian stepped forward.

"What are you doing?"

Brielle's expression remained calm.

"Finishing what I started."

A pause.

"You think exposing her was enough?" she added.

Kian's voice lowered.

"This isn't about school anymore, is it?"

Brielle's eyes sharpened slightly.

"Finally… you're understanding."

Another pause.

"Her family…" Brielle continued.

"…and mine… have history."

That changed everything.

Kian's expression darkened.

"So this is revenge."

Brielle didn't deny it.

"It's balance," she said.

Silence.

Kian looked at her.

Then said:

"You're going too far."

Brielle stepped closer.

"And she didn't?"

Kian frowned.

"What are you talking about?"

Brielle leaned in slightly.

And whispered:

"You don't even know what she's really capable of."

That sentence lingered.

Because now…

The question wasn't just what is Amara hiding?

It became—

Who is she really?
