Chapter 22 - kicks and brother hood

As the bus rumbled through the Italian countryside, Ryan turned to his best friend, Leo, with a sly grin.

"Dude, we're finally going to that boutique in Florence—the one with the rarest sneakers in the world."

Leo's eyes lit up instantly. "Bro, I'm so hyped! I need to cop that Gucci pair I've been eyeing. My birthday is coming up, and I need some fresh kicks."

Ryan chuckled. "Birthday, huh? You old man turning twenty-three. We'll have to celebrate in style."

The rest of the journey flew by as the two friends talked endlessly about sneakers—arguing over brands, styles, and which designs ruled the streets. By the time the bus finally rolled into Florence, their excitement had reached its peak.

The city greeted them with life and movement, but they had only one destination in mind.

The boutique.

With a spring in their steps, Ryan and Leo made their way through the busy shopping district, their eyes scanning every window until they found it.

Sleek. Stylish. Impossible to ignore.

Inside, rows of sneakers were displayed like priceless art. The air itself felt different—charged with passion and luxury.

The staff welcomed them warmly, quickly recognizing them as true sneaker enthusiasts.

Hours passed without them noticing.

They tried on shoes, debated details, and admired every design. Each pair told its own story—but for Leo, there was only one that mattered.

The Gucci sneakers.

The moment he saw them, everything else faded.

"This is it," he said quietly.

Ryan smiled. "Then don't hesitate."

Leo didn't.

At the same time, Ryan secured his own prize—a pair of limited-edition Nikes, rare enough to stand out anywhere.

When they finally stepped out of the boutique, bags in hand, they couldn't stop smiling.

"That," Ryan said, shaking his head, "was the best shopping trip ever."

Leo nodded, already thinking ahead. "Next stop… Milan. I've heard they've got some sick streetwear stores."

Ryian laughed. "You're a sneaker fiend, bro."

"And you're coming with me," Leo replied.

Ryan smirked. "Obviously."

They spent the rest of the day wandering through the streets of Florence, taking in the sights, the sounds, and the energy of the city. But even as they explored, their minds were already on their next adventure.

Milan.

Later, as they boarded the bus, the mood shifted.

Leo turned to Ryan, his expression more serious now. "Dude… thanks for coming with me today."

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"You didn't have to," Leo said. "But you did. You always do."

For a moment, Ryan said nothing. Then he smiled and clapped Leo on the back.

"You're my guy," he said simply. "Of course I came."

Leo smiled, shaking his head. "You're the best wingman a guy could ask for."

Ryan laughed. "Anytime, bro."

He leaned back in his seat, a satisfied look on his face.

"Now let's go find some more kicks
