Chapter 194 - The Target on Her Back

Part 2: The Target on Her Back

War no longer felt distant.

It had a direction now.

A purpose.

A name.

And that name…

Was Amelia.

War Room — Morning

The atmosphere was tense.

Focused.

Sharp.

A large screen lit up the room.

Maps.

Locations.

Routes.

Damian stood at the center.

Lucas beside him.

Ethan slightly behind—

But no longer just watching.

He was part of this now.

Amelia stood across from them.

Quiet.

But steady.

"No more secrets."

Damian said.

Her eyes met his.

"…No more."

A pause.

"Where is it?"

Damian asked.

She hesitated for only a second this time.

"…Switzerland."

Ethan blinked.

"…That's far."

Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Specific location?"

She nodded slowly.

"A private vault."

A pause.

"My father set it up before everything collapsed."

Damian's expression didn't change.

"What protects it?"

Her voice lowered.

"…Me."

Silence.

"Biometric access."

"Voice. DNA. Identity code."

"No one else can open it."

Ethan let out a low whistle.

"…Your dad didn't play around."

She shook her head slightly.

"He knew what would happen."

A pause.

"He just didn't know when."

Damian stepped closer.

"And now Azrel wants you to lead him there."

She nodded.

"Yes."

Lucas crossed his arms slightly.

"So we move first."

Damian's eyes darkened slightly.

"Yes."

A pause.

"We go to Switzerland."

Elara — Outside the Room

She had heard enough.

Her heart tightened.

Switzerland.

Danger.

Again.

She stepped away quietly.

Because she already knew—

Damian wasn't going alone.

And that meant…

Everything was about to change again.

Hallway — Later

Ethan caught up with Amelia again.

This time—

No distance.

No hesitation.

"You should have trusted me."

She stopped.

Then turned slowly.

"I was scared."

"Of what?"

"…Losing you."

That answer—

Still hit the same way.

Ethan exhaled softly.

"You're not getting rid of me that easily."

A small smile touched her lips.

"You're really stubborn."

He smirked.

"Runs in the family."

A pause.

Then his expression turned serious again.

"But from now on…"

"No more hiding things from me."

She nodded slowly.

"…No more."

And this time—

She meant it.

Damian & Elara — Their Room

Elara stood facing him.

"You're going, aren't you?"

Damian didn't lie.

"Yes."

A pause.

"And you're taking her."

"Yes."

Silence.

Her eyes softened slightly.

"…Then we're coming too."

Damian's expression shifted.

"No."

"Damian—"

"It's not safe."

"And staying here is?"

That stopped him.

A pause.

"Elara—"

"I'm not staying behind while you walk into danger again."

Her voice was firm.

"I'm your wife."

A step closer.

"We face things together."

Silence.

Damian stared at her.

Long.

Deep.

Then—

"…Fine."

Relief flashed in her eyes.

But his next words—

Changed it again.

"You stay close to me at all times."

"I always do."

Final Scene — The Move Begins

The mansion buzzed with preparation.

Weapons checked.

Routes mapped.

Plans set.

This wasn't just a trip anymore.

It was a mission.

A dangerous one.

Because now—

They weren't waiting for Azrel.

They were moving straight toward the heart of everything.

And when two forces collide—

Only one walks away.

To be continued…
