Chapter 205 - The Shadow That Remains

Part 2:The Shadow That Remains

The war was over.

Or so it seemed.

Night — After Victory

The bodies were gone.

The blood washed away.

The villa restored to silence.

But peace…

Hadn't returned.

Damian stood alone on the balcony.

The cold night air brushing against him.

His eyes fixed on the distance.

Thinking.

Because something didn't feel right.

Not yet.

Behind him—

Soft footsteps.

Elara.

She walked closer slowly.

"…You're still thinking about him."

Not a question.

A statement.

Damian didn't turn.

"…He didn't die easy."

Elara wrapped her arms gently around him from behind.

Resting her head against his back.

"He's gone."

She whispered.

A pause.

"…I made sure of it."

But even as he said it—

His voice carried doubt.

And she felt it.

Inside — Quiet Moments

Seraphina slept peacefully.

Unaware of everything that had happened.

Naomi sat beside her.

Watching over her.

Safe.

For now.

Ethan & Amelia — Late Night

The house was quiet.

Lights dimmed.

Ethan leaned against the hallway wall.

Arms folded.

Waiting.

Then—

Amelia stepped out of her room.

She paused when she saw him.

"…You're still awake?"

He shrugged slightly.

"Couldn't sleep."

A pause.

"…You?"

She shook her head softly.

"Same."

Silence settled between them.

Not awkward.

Just… heavy.

Then—

"You were amazing today."

Ethan said quietly.

She blinked.

"…I almost froze."

"But you didn't."

Their eyes met.

"…You saved all of us."

A small breath left her lips.

"…You saved me too."

He smirked faintly.

"Yeah… I'm getting used to that."

That made her smile.

A real one.

Then—

She stepped closer.

"…Thank you, Ethan."

His expression softened.

"…Anytime."

A moment passed.

Quiet.

Then—

He reached out slightly.

Brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

Gentle.

Careful.

She didn't pull away.

And in that silence—

Something deeper began.

The Hidden Truth

Far away.

Unknown location.

Dark.

A faint sound echoed.

Breathing.

Heavy.

Uneven.

A hand twitched.

Then—

Eyes opened.

Slowly.

Cold.

Alive.

Azrel.

Blood covered him.

His body weak.

But his lips—

Curved again.

"…Not… yet…"

A low breath escaped him.

"…This isn't over…"

Because monsters like him—

Don't die easily.

They wait.

They recover.

And then—

They return.

Final Scene — A War Unfinished

Back at the villa—

Damian stood still.

His eyes slowly lifted to the dark sky.

A feeling.

Instinct.

Danger…

Wasn't gone.

And somewhere—

It was watching.

Waiting.

For the right moment.

To strike again.

To be continued…
