Chapter 166 - Rapid Development

Three days had passed in the outside world, while one hundred and twenty days had flowed within the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land.

Lin Yan's will swept across the Southern Li Fire Plains.

The barren reddish-brown earth had largely disappeared, replaced by vast fields of crimson grasslands stretching toward the horizon. Life flourished everywhere, giving the once-desolate plains a completely different appearance.

As strong winds swept across the land, countless fiery-red leaves rose into the air. From afar, they resembled waves of flame rolling across the plains. Beneath the endless sea of crimson grass, black vines occasionally emerged from the soil, their dark-red beans swaying gently in the wind.

Further south, vast bamboo forests had already taken shape. Towering stalks of Provoke Fire Bamboo stretched into the distance, their jade-red surfaces flickering with faint flames. Massive Black-and-White Fire Bears wandered among the bamboo groves. Some lay sprawled on the ground sleeping, while others leisurely gnawed on bamboo stalks thicker than a man's arm.

Deep beneath the surface, countless Cremation Mushrooms silently spread through the soil. Their existence was almost impossible to detect, yet they continuously decomposed waste and returned nutrients to the land.

The five resource points that had once existed only in Lin Yan's plans had now begun to merge into a single, functioning whole.

The speed of development exceeded even Lin Yan's expectations.

The Huang Family had spared no expense, pouring centuries of accumulated resources into the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. Combined with the superior environment of the blessed land itself, the results were naturally impressive.

Lin Yan carefully inspected the Southern Li Fire Plains and nodded slightly. The five resource points were operating smoothly. Fire Fiend Bean enriched the soil, Flame Marsh Grass spread across the plains, Provoke Fire Bamboo continued expanding, Black-and-White Fire Bears kept the bamboo forests in check, while Cremation Mushrooms quietly maintained the underground cycle.

No major problems had appeared so far. This meant the first stage of development had been a success.

With a stable foundation established, he could begin introducing additional vegetation and beast groups.

His gaze soon fell upon the Black-and-White Fire Bear herd. After more than a hundred days within the blessed land, their numbers had nearly doubled. The combination of abundant food, a suitable environment, and dedicated care from the Huang Family had allowed the herd to expand rapidly.

Lin Yan was quite satisfied with the result. Development of a blessed land could not be rushed. Compared to ordinary Gu Immortals, he already possessed an enormous advantage.

After all, he had prepared a complete development plan for the next three years.

For the first year, the various beast groups would mainly adapt to their new environment while steadily recovering their numbers. During the second year, their populations would enter a period of rapid expansion. By the third year, they would number in the hundreds of thousands, leaving a considerable surplus that could be sold in Treasure Yellow Heaven.

Similar plans existed for Cremation Mushrooms, Fire Fiend Beans, Red Emperor Earth, and more than twenty types of Gu worms. Together, they already formed the framework of seven or eight Mortal-Grade resource points.

If everything proceeded smoothly, the entire process would require less than a month in the outside world.

Few Gu Immortals could replicate such a rate of development.

And this was merely the first stage. Lin Yan surveyed the Southern Li Fire Plains. The initial batch of species had adapted successfully, and the ecological chain was already operating steadily.

Since the foundation had proven stable, there was no reason to remain conservative. A thoughtful look appeared in his eyes.

"What should be introduced next?" he murmured to himself.

Lin Yan fell into deep thought. A moment later, his thoughts entered Treasure Yellow Heaven and began browsing the countless vegetation and beast groups available for sale.

The Southern Li Fire Plains had already entered a stable stage of development. The initial ecological chain was functioning smoothly, and additional species could be introduced gradually in the future.

The real problem lay elsewhere. The other three extreme climate regions within the blessed land remained largely undeveloped. Unlike the Southern Li Fire Plains, those regions could not be handed over to Mortal Gu Masters. The environments were simply too harsh. Even Rank 3 Gu Masters would struggle to survive there for extended periods.

As a result, their development could only be carried out personally by Lin Yan. At times like this, the advantages of possessing a massive blessed land became burdens as well.

Countless species passed before his eyes as he searched through Treasure Yellow Heaven, carefully selecting vegetation and beast groups suitable for each environment.

Soon, Lin Yan selected several new species and introduced them into the Southern Li Fire Plains: Red-Horned Antelope, Flame Wolves, Blazing Algae, Thermophilic Fish, and Netherfire Dragon Pythons.

Among them, Red-Horned Antelope and Flame Wolves were intended to further enrich the existing food chain.

For one immortal essence stone, Lin Yan purchased tens of thousands of Red-Horned Antelope. These gentle beasts primarily fed on Flame Marsh Grass, making them an ideal solution to its rapid spread. At the same time, their red horns naturally gathered Flame Path Dao Marks and possessed considerable value.

Flame Wolves were even more common. For another immortal essence stone, Lin Yan acquired a large wolf pack along with a Myriad Beast King. Their purpose was simple: to prey upon the Red-Horned Antelope and complete the next layer of the food chain.

The true value of these two species lay not in the beasts themselves, but in the changes they would bring to the Southern Li Fire Plains.

As their numbers increased, the amount of organic matter returned to the land would rise dramatically. This would allow Cremation Mushrooms to expand more rapidly and further accelerate the production of Red Emperor Earth.

The latter three species were even more important.

Blazing Algae was a superior Flame Path aquatic plant. In terms of preserving and enriching soil, it far surpassed both Fire Fiend Beans and Cremation Mushrooms.

The three Fire Ember Lakes of the Southern Li Fire Plains provided the perfect environment for its growth. Beneath the boiling waters lay large quantities of Fire Ember Stones. Once established, the Blazing Algae would continuously nourish these stones, while the Fire Ember Stones would in turn support the algae's growth.

Thermophilic Fish occupied the next link in the chain. They fed on Blazing Algae and reproduced quickly within high-temperature waters.

As for the Netherfire Dragon Pythons, they stood at the top of this aquatic ecosystem.

The Thermophilic Fish would provide them with a stable source of food.

This type of wild beast was extremely valuable. It possessed a trace of dragon bloodline, granting it formidable combat strength. At the same time, its flesh and blood were important food sources for many mainstream Rank 5 Flame Path Gu worms. It was also a key ingredient in numerous Gu Recipes and even appeared as an auxiliary material in various Immortal Gu Recipes.

In the original timeline, when Fang Yuan was still a Rank 6 Gu Immortal, Netherfire Dragon Pythons had been one of the three pillars of his economy for a long period of time. Raised within Fire Ember Lakes, they generated hundreds of immortal essence stones every year.

Coincidentally, the Southern Li Fire Plains also possessed three Fire Ember Lakes. Lin Yan naturally would not overlook such an opportunity.
