Sato: Where is she?
I have to find her. Where is Hanami? And where am I? What happened to the war?
Why do I see a signal? Wait a minute, why am I not wearing my clothes?
(The landowner passes by Sato)
Old Man: Hello. You're finally awake. I found you here like a piece of meat; every day you were reforming. We tried to lift you to take you inside, but we couldn't.
Sato: How? Where am I? And how did I get here?
Old Man: Well, I've been on this land since I was 59 years old, farming it, and I've always found your body here. But how and why are you here? I expect you know, not me.
Sato: Okay, where are my things?
Old Man: Can you move to come inside so I can talk with you more?
Sato: Alright.
(After several minutes, Sato is able to comprehend)
Sato: Well, I can explain it to you, but you wouldn't understand. But I can ask you a question.
Old Man: Ask, my son.
Sato: What year are we in?
Old Man: Well, we are in the year 1778.
Sato: So this means the Potion of Immortality actually worked.
(Terror on Omar's face)
....
Sword of Eternity: The Long Covenant's Journey
Omar/Sato: Swordsmith and Fighter, Resistance Class
Hair: Black
Age: 16
Eyes: Brown-Black
Height: 181
....
Old Man: Potion of Immortality?
Sato: Well, it's none of your concern.
Old Man: I didn't expect our meeting to be like this. During all the time I saw you,
I wondered what talking to you would be like, what your language was, and many other things.
Sato: I'm very sorry, old man, but I have to leave. Thank you for your hospitality and for welcoming me.
Old Man: Alright, come back again, my son.
Sato: One moment, where are we now?
Old Man: We are in Japan, that's why I'm speaking Japanese. But also, my Japanese is different from yours.
Sato: One last thing, really. Do you have a history book?
Old Man: Unfortunately, no. We are still recovering from the damages of the war from over 100 years ago.
Sato: You've answered what I was looking for. Goodbye. Wait, right, what's your name?
Albert: Albert Aaron.
(Sato heads towards the signal, which he finds is the same place where Hanami fell)
Sato: I must find you alive, like me. That's right, I promised you I would live.
(Sato starts searching underground, and as he searches among the rocks, he remembers)
Sato: Are you kidding me, my stupid mind! I didn't give her the potion. How? How? How? That's right, I kept it with me and saw her fall from the mountain to the place where I am now.
(Sato starts to laugh)
Sato: This is so obvious! How could I be normal if I didn't think so stupidly! Wait, how is the signal still working? That means she's here, but underground. Right.
(Sato starts digging with his hands)
Sato: Come on, tell me!
(His hands start to bleed as he starts again, and his face shows that he remembered he was the cause of her death)
Sato: Come on, tell me!
(The signal starts moving to the left, and a rock begins to glow with the symbol iLi on it.
He starts screaming, his voice fading from intensity and exhaustion)
Sato: So she's in hell and I'm immortal, are you kidding me? Just for a few minutes! Just for a day! If we could have postponed the war for just one day, all of this might not have happened. It would have been over, but no, impossible! I must see her suffer before my eyes. I know she won't be with me in the end, but not like this. This is really too much, too much for me!
(The first day passes, then the second, without him eating or drinking. All that is before him is a stone)
(On the third day, Sato is unconscious. Albert comes and finds him, the stone in his hand,
his hand covered in blood. This time, Albert is able to carry him and take him into his house... Days pass until Sato is finally able to wake up, in a miserable state)
Sato: What? My stomach... Ah, my heart is truly trembling.
(A knock on the door. A woman opens it, carrying a food tray)
Ana: You're finally awake. Hello, I'm Ana, Albert's daughter.
Sato: Thank you. I think... have you been visiting me often?
Ana: No, I just brought the food because I finished my work early today, and my father was watching the land, so I was the one to check if you had woken up.
Sato: How old are you? You look older.
Ana: That's right. In fact, I'm 27. My father and I came from Moscow 9 years ago because my mother died a few years before we left, and because my father didn't want to stay in the same environment where my mother lived.
Sato: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.
Ana: It doesn't matter, time has passed. And I haven't married because of this; I still live with my father.
Sato: And thank you for the food.
Ana: My father kept the stone that was with you on the table for you. Take it... here.
It was full of blood, so I cleaned it for you...
(Sato starts to cry)
Ana: Well, I expect you want me to leave. I'll go and close the door and let you finish your food.
(After Ana leaves)
Sato: What should I do now? Should I go back to Egypt or stay here? Really,
my mind is going to explode.
(After Sato finishes eating, he gets up, takes the box with the stone, and goes out to meet Albert)
Albert: What are you going to do now? I still don't understand your story,
and I see you falling unconscious to the ground every time.
Sato: Well, my name is Omar. I descend from the Ottomans, from Egypt.
(After Omar tells Albert his story)
Albert: I believe you. There was no other possibility for me to see pieces over 20 years or more turn into a body. So, what will you do?
Omar: I want to rest for a while. Can you let me live with you for a period?
Albert: Of course, but you know you have to pay in return. So, you can either work with me in farming or look for a job.
Omar: Okay, I agree to work with you. But, why aren't you surprised by anything I've said?
Albert: Simply, my feelings ended when my wife died. It doesn't matter...
(Days and months pass. Omar lives and coexists, eating, drinking, sleeping, laughing,
and rejoicing with Albert and Ana, until the memories almost fade. But every day he bathes,
he feels a pain in his heart, a pain of wanting to see her, wanting to watch her, wanting to touch her)
(He tries to forget through work, making the farm flourish....)
Omar: I have a request, Albert.
Albert: Go ahead.
Omar: You know that I want to go on with life. I want to live life as it was supposed to be from the beginning. I want to feel love, and to feel everything I didn't have. I want... to marry your daughter.
Albert: Hmm... Do you even love her? Or do you just want to marry her to get over it?
Omar: I won't lie to you, I don't love her with that kind of love, but I want to be with her. She is good for me.
Albert: I'm not the one to approve in this case. I will tell her, and if she doesn't agree,
I won't speak with you on the matter at all.
Omar: Alright.
(The days go on, and Ana, at 28, agrees to marry Omar, who looks 17)
(Ana is from a monotheistic family, so Omar and Albert had no problem with the marriage contract. He is blessed with a son after his first consummation. Here, Omar understands that his body does not deteriorate with time, and that even if he ages, he will not weaken,
but only improve)
(Even his appearance does not change, only transforming from having no facial hair to growing a beard...)
(Days pass after that, and he continues to search for just a piece of news around the city,
until he is in despair)
Ana: Your heart still hurts.
Omar: Yes.
Ana: Listen, if I end up dead and you can't stop your immortality, I want you to keep trying.
Omar: I don't care anymore. I just want to be by your side always.
Ana: That's a lie, but I wish it were true.
(He works every day with Albert in farming and manages to develop the work further to increase the land's production. People work there and they collect money to open a factory to make more use of the harvest)
(The year 1794 arrives, and the newspaper industry begins to spread among news owners. News begins to appear that those who turn to stone, from the old legend, can return to life. They say it is almost impossible for them to return. Here, Omar understood that it was almost impossible, but not impossible)
(Days and nights pass, Omar's heart is still in pain. The hairs on his face turn from black to white. Instead of one child, there are four. Instead of one medicine for his wife, there are two. He understands that even if his appearance doesn't change, his mind cannot grasp the amount of desires that are covered by the thought of wanting to die..)
(From the immense psychological pressure he was under, he returned to making swords.
He makes swords and trains with them, in addition to his work in farming and the factories, which increases his speed and physical strength....)
Son: Father, I want to duel you once.
Other Sons: Really! We'll finally see the warrior who became famous in his war.
Omar: Alright, boys, watch me as I take down your brother.
(The duel begins, and in less than 10 seconds, Omar has knocked his son down and placed the sword at his head)
Omar: Now, all of you, take swords and come try.
Sons: Alright!
(The fight begins again, but now Sato assumes his fighting stance with his foresight activated. The sons try to thrust their swords at random times and in random places, but Omar moves and circles around them one by one, until he can reach the hilt of each sword and strike them one by one until all the swords fly away....)
(The day Albert dies arrives)
(And the young man with the white beard is still present, with a 65-year-old woman, surrounded by men over 30....)
Son: Father, I know the story, and my mother told me. But why? Why did you stop trying until my grandfather died? You look younger than me! This really makes me want to cry for you.
Omar: Listen, I won't be able to find the way without a guide. Until that day,
I want you to understand that I am not what I can call a father. I am at the lowest stage.
You are the one who can guide me now, not me. It is not me you should cry for.....
(And when he sees his elderly wife on her deathbed, who was once a 27-year-old lady,
he can only cry at what he sees. He sees the one he lived with for over 50 years,
while he still looks like a young man who could be marked as 80, and his children are over 40. Ana's heartbeats begin to fade on her deathbed. Before she dies, a drop of blood comes from her finger in an attempt for him to die, but to no avail. Omar's heart hurts even more. She dies, and he remains immortal with a stone that glows constantly in his eye.....)
Son: She is gone, and with her, our tears are gone.
(Omar's eyes say everything, he doesn't need to speak the words)
(Year 1816)
(Omar continues to live day after day after the death of his wife, children, and grandchildren, just waiting for the news, the news of the discovery of the path or even the beginning of the line)
(And finally, after a long wait, news comes that there is a way and heavenly manuscripts about bringing people back to life. The beginning of the path to bring a dead person back is in Yemen, the city of myths and legends. He goes to the shops around the city where he lived before his departure to prepare...)
(He enters the shop)
Abhara: How are you, Sato? It's been a while..
(Omar and Abhara say at the same time)
Omar/Abhara: Wait, what?
(Omar draws his sword, and so does Abhara, and they perform evasive and attacking moves. Sato and Abhara grab each other's hands, and each sword and dagger is in front of the other's eye, but...)
Arena: Stop it, you two! Sato, are you a Jinn?
Omar: No, but how are you two still alive?
Abhara: Well, listen, this is going to sound strange. We are Jinn.
Omar: What? How?
Abhara: The question here isn't how we are Jinn and still alive. How are you a human and still alive after more than 100 years?
Omar: Well, this is going to be a long story. But why do Jinn live over 100 years?
Abhara: We reach up to 300 years. We can't interbreed with humans or mix generally, only in shops. And this is a level that if we reach, we no longer possess the powers we used to have. The most we can do are magic tricks like...
(He pulls a rose out of his sleeves)
Abhara: Tadaa!
Arena: Stop playing around.. What about you? Why are you still alive? And why aren't you surprised by what he said?
Omar: Well, I'll tell you a quick story. I went into a war, and instead of giving the Potion of Immortality to someone, I drank it. And now I have to bring her back to life so I can die and not let her be in hell. Tadaa! And why am I not surprised? Because I saw my wife die, and my children, and my grandchildren, while I am in the body of a seventeen-year-old. Tadaa!
Abhara: You can't imitate me very well. Really, you're a failure.
Arena: I won't disagree with you on that, he really is better than you. So, you drank the Potion of Immortality, which naturally was from the lowest foundations of war that humans waged. This means you will suffer for a lifetime because of the potion, whose first and last rule is to drink the blood of someone you truly love, or the Door. And of course, she is dead since you are still alive until now.
Omar: Despite what I said, Arena is really smart.
Abhara: I told you so.
Arena: Well, I can't tell you anything other than, if you want to live until the end of the world, this is the best thing for you. Otherwise, you will die more than you have lived.
Omar: I know all this.
Arena: Good. And also, beware of demons, they are not like us Jinn. We are like candy in their hands.
Omar: Really. One last question, how old are you two? And why did you move here?
Arena: Listen, I'll just say that there's someone on my left who wanted to watch the end-of-year celebration, and he is, I believe, 160 years old. And you have no right to ask a woman her age. What matters now is, what do you want to buy from us today?
Omar: Well, I want something for my sword, a property so that if I summon it, it comes directly to my hand.
Arena: Alright, so you understand how it will work, if you drop a drop of your blood, it will return to you. And what do you think of a stone with someone who comes out to fight with you and help you? But just so you know, it has to be a dead person, and you merge a drop of their blood with the sword.
Omar: I want that, it sounds good.
Arena: It seems we don't have it, but we have an alternative, like a chain. Do you want it?
Omar: Of course. I have a stone merged into my heart, it hurts me a lot.
Arena: Well, this is an elixir or a potion that stops the pain and restores some of your health, but it doesn't heal your heart completely, it just makes you feel better.
Omar: Perfect, thank you. How much is the cost after all this....
Arena: Since he is going to live and we won't be alive to witness the moment of his death, I want to give him a gift. What do you think?
Abhara: Alright, I'm with you. But what do you want?
Arena: I want to put immense power into his sword through the green stone. And to make it have this power, we'll make it absorb Omar's blood. And in all cases, Omar won't die through his sword, right?
Abhara: Alright.
(After finishing working on the sword)
Abhara: Here you go, this is the sword.
Omar: Thanks.
Abhara: Next time, you will find us in Egypt.
Omar: Why Egypt specifically?
Abhara: When we get older, we want to retire in Egypt. We have a vision or something like that, we know that it's the location where, when you are in it, our souls return to the earth. And the land of Egypt is one of the habitats of life, like the energy center in the peninsula.
(And Omar went to Yemen, the region of Shem or Sana'a, by ship, using a stone that was prepared for this journey, and a sword that could cut a hair, and a stone that points to her return)
Here ends the fifth chapter of Sword of Eternity: Journey of the Long Covenant.
