Jax's POV
The hospital was quiet when Theo and I finally left.
Before leaving, I looked back one last time through the small window in Lirien's room.
The sight made me smile.
Lirien was asleep.
Vael sat beside the bed, holding one of the babies.
Davis sat nearby with another sleeping against his chest.
It looked like a picture of happiness.
A family finally at peace.
After everything they had suffered, they deserved that peace.
"They're going to be amazing parents," Theo said softly beside me.
I nodded.
"They already are."
We quietly left.
The cool night air hit my face the second we stepped outside.
I breathed deeply.
The city lights glittered around us.
Cars moved along distant roads.
Somewhere nearby, I could hear music drifting from a restaurant.
Everything seemed normal.
But my heart felt different.
Lighter.
Happier.
The image of those three tiny babies wouldn't leave my mind.
Dasien.
Valiera.
Lirael.
