Ethan's POV
I followed William back inside the house. My heart was still racing from the hug and the soft kiss he had given me on the cheek. The memory of his arms around me and his warm breath brushing my skin stayed with me. It felt gentle and sweet. Even as we walked through the door, I could still feel the warmth of his body close to mine.
William's mother was waiting in the living room. She looked up and gave me a kind smile when she saw us.
"Ethan, would you like to stay for dinner?" she asked warmly.
I smiled back politely and shook my head. "Thank you, Mrs. Harlan. That's very kind of you, but I should head home now. I don't want to take up too much of your family's time."
She nodded with understanding. "Of course. Please come again soon. You are always welcome here."
