Chapter 4 - Round 2: Part 1

The Traveler had found someone in the group of the good that was good in almost every section of the tournament besides that of Fighting. His thoughts and testing of the round would have to work out if he wanted to keep the good's morale up.

"Voting time, everyone!" A woman in a dress with red and brown stripes going down her dress entered the chow hall where all the bad people were. She was partly scared of what they were capable of.

"Alright, I volunteer myself."

A man in a white outfit came forward. The eyes in his skull were open and when the woman thought of it, she realized he never blinked. I think he is strong. He carries the confidence to be. But he also seems shallow up there. The chances of him winning in a fight is certain but that still leaves the chances of victory as two to one.  That wasn't accounting for Assistance. If she was to assist him, it would likely mean that he would win. Then the chances of victory would be one to one.

"Very well, and I volunteer myself."

She didn't know what made her want to go out there and fight, but she was willing to do so and had been very well across all solo categories.

"Thank you, I'll see what I can do." The man wasn't scaring her but yet again, she could win in all categories against most of the people here. She would wager that she was a leading figure.

In fact, she would wager that she was the strongest here. Even with the cosmic destroyers included. But the only exception in her mind was when she found out her roommate was Thorn, she didn't want to be there.

"I guess this means that the two of us are going to head out there. But who would be first?"

She wanted to find the full scope of the opposite side's power. For all she knew, there were things that could swallow her alive. But she knew that there was no chance that he wasn't waiting for their inevitable reunion.

"Dear madame, I propose that I go first." He was obviously excited for the meeting, but this would be a tough one. She still needed to test the waters and if she really had no chance, she would need time to see if there were those who would go in her place until she could escape or even possibly win the tournament. She twirled her curly hair in her front left fingers, and her pupils were wide as she thought deeper on the matter. "Your silence is my cue."

Like that, he was gone as an eerie silence overcame the chow hall. She knew that there was no way to stop things if she made a mistake. Another thing she knew was that whoever ran this tournament had to be stronger than her. Thus, escape was off the table if someone was able to stand on that scale. Another thing that she wagered was that there were likely people who knew one another. That meant her old friend was here and by her count, there were plenty of ways this could end if they had the misfortune of meeting one another.

"Okay everyone, I volunteer. Just explain everything to me and I'll be out of here in no time." Ron was good at what he did. He could quote any philosopher, and he could be described as a man of many shades. He wore a white sweater and had his hair combed to the side. When he had looked up from a book to meet the gaze of the Traveler, the elder of the two could see Ron had soft brown eyes that were constantly at ease. "I want to make it out of here and want everyone else out as well."

The night prior, Ron had cried himself to sleep because the gangster man they sent out was nice to him in the few hours they knew one another. He had a pain in his heart that just wouldn't leave.

"Nice to see that you're willing to work for what you got." Ron never had that much where he was from. If he was to survive the tournament, he would probably make a fortune. He could work fast like that. But one thing that always sat in his way was how he really lacked motivation. "Now, get out there, kiddo."

He gave him pat on the back and inspected him for any signs that he wasn't otherwise interesting or intelligent. If the wheel was to land on Assistance, he would personally go into the arena. He was good like that, being able to fight, had an interesting story, and was a ninth level intelligence.

"Entering the arena is a special hero from the far away land of Scotland, we have Ron Rogers!" As Ron entered the arena, he was disappointed by the lack of anything meaningful in the arena. Everything had meaning, but there was something that laid in violence that was so hollow to Ron. He had worn a pair of old boots and a pair of pants that somewhat reminded the viewers of jeans. "Next out here is a special man, the Man Before Time!"

The man looked nothing short of a rockstar. His white attire was denims if you got a closer look. When you looked even closer, you would see that the white color was made of ash. That ash that had dyed his clothing was paid for in the agony of trillions from thousands of planets. "The world is going to have a good time with this one! So, let's see what they compete on!"

The wheel spun around and round until it landed on words that made one side cheer and another release a breath of disappointment. Story. Like that, the Traveler had won the bluff. He had two to one chance and won on his gamble against the other side, especially against the Woman.

"Shall we begin?" Ron and the man were simply comfortable. Ron released the tension in his shoulders and allowed himself to breathe in through his nose and out through his mouth. This wasn't going to be a competition and he knew it.

"Very much so."

The courthouse came before the two. The judge from before was here again. He was pale, so very pale. His smile had put some unease into Ron and his enemy. But they both believed themselves to win the round.

Ron knew if he was to actually lose this round, the hope for the good would die with him. Even if they had lost the next part of the round, he would know that he gave inspiration to the good and set in something that could outlast him, hope.
