Chapter 152 - Chapter 152: I Didn't Give You Permission to Leave

The battle between Mika and the ghosts had widened the narrow street, and the surrounding dilapidated houses bore witness to the intensity of the fight.

Mika was truly worthy of being a Ghost King; even when besieged, he still held his own. However, looking at his state, losing was only a matter of time.

Mika dodged a strike from byakkomaru and retreated, speaking coldly to the ghosts.

"I'm starting to get tired of you flies."

asuramaru chuckled dismissively, and ten blade shadows coalesced behind him.

"Tired already? It's only just begun!"

The blade shadows shot toward Mika's vital points. With a slight flick of Mika's finger, the ground in front of him rose abruptly, blocking this round of attacks.

"This is my territory!"

With a thought from Mika, the surrounding environment began to shift. In an instant, the ruins transformed into an urban district filled with towering buildings.

The enemies were difficult to deal with; he had to utilize some home-field advantage.

Such a change was within the ghosts' expectations, so they weren't overly surprised, but the current situation undoubtedly increased the difficulty of capturing Mika.

Outside a certain skyscraper, three figures could be seen hanging from the exterior from a distance.

Luke looked at the ground hundreds of meters below him, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

"I... I must still be dreaming!"

He had just witnessed skyscrapers rising from the familiar streets with his own eyes.

Luke squeezed his eyes shut, refusing to look down. It wasn't that he was afraid of heights, but he felt he was under an illusion; perhaps when he opened his eyes again, he would find himself still playing with the kitten.

Luke opened his eyes and found himself high in the air. He shook his head and closed his eyes again. After a moment, he opened them once more.

"Wok!"

Luke cried out in alarm. When he opened his eyes, Krul's face filled his vision, giving him a fright.

"What are you screaming for?"

Luke realized that at some point, they had reached the rooftop of this skyscraper.

"I'm tired. Just destroy everything, you she-devil. Give me a quick death!"

Luke's expression was vacant, as if he had endured endless torment, giving off the feeling that he had given up on life.

Krul smiled indifferently and pointed to the edge of the rooftop.

"As you wish."

Kyle walked to the edge of the roof and set Luke down, his face full of schadenfreude, as if wanting to see Luke back down out of fear.

Hearing this, Luke instinctively looked down, cursing his own big mouth in his heart.

While Krul had the mind to tease Luke, she was now looking around, searching for her target; business came first.

Because the current position offered an excellent view, Krul quickly locked onto a direction.

"We won't take him along; he's useless. My brother and the others are over there."

Krul exerted force under her feet, using the various buildings as springboards to head toward the direction of the battle.

This is practically Superman! No matter how many times I see it, I'm shocked. She doesn't look old, yet she's so powerful. No, she's a real Vampire; she might already be at a grandmother's age and has a bad temper. Aside from being good-looking, she's worthless. I really don't know what unlucky guy would end up with her. By the way, do Vampires date?

Luke couldn't help but let his thoughts wander, lacking the distress and fear of being a prisoner. Perhaps in Mika's heart, he believed Luke was an optimist who feared nothing.

Kyle looked at Luke with a wicked grin.

Luke had a bad feeling and wanted to retreat, only to find there was no path behind him.

Kyle said nothing and simply leaped up, chasing after Krul. However, he deliberately used a lot of force; as he launched himself, the floor of the rooftop cracked.

The spot where Kyle jumped was very close to Luke, who was startled into taking half a step back.

"Ah-re?"

Luke only felt a sense of weightlessness as the environment changed rapidly around him, and the sound of the wind in his ears became deafening.

"Wokkkkkkkkkkk!"

Just as Luke thought his life was over, he felt something tightly grabbing his legs, and his falling speed slowed significantly. Looking at his legs, two ropes of Demonic Aura were tied around each of them.

Luke knew he wouldn't fall to his death, but... who can put me down?!

At this point, only the most primitive method could save him!

"Help! Is anyone there?"

...Krul was very fast and soon reached the edge of the area where Mika and the ghosts were fighting.

She looked down.

Mika appeared to be showing some signs of fatigue, but on the opponents' side, except for Ghost Box King who had blood at the corner of his mouth, the other ghosts were largely unharmed.

Mika changed the building structures from time to time, giving the ghosts quite a headache.

From a bird's-eye view, Krul noticed that her brother, Shinya, and another fellow with ghost hands behind him clearly lacked any drive.

Seeing that her brother was fine, Krul couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, then focused her attention on Mika.

Just as Krul shifted her gaze, asuramaru seemed to sense something and looked up toward Krul's position. Seeing that figure, he was initially surprised, but quickly regained his composure.

No one noticed asuramaru's momentary change in expression as they continued to focus on dealing with Mika.

However, after onikiri, who was the first to engage Mika, had his attack interrupted again by a lightning rod on a rooftop, onikiri decisively withdrew from the battle.

"Bastard! This fight is too frustrating. I'm not playing with you guys anymore."

With that, onikiri began to retreat.

Originally, onikiri hadn't wanted to get involved in this mess; he had to find that idiot Yuichiro first.

The other ghosts were stunned, clearly not expecting onikiri to want to leave the battle halfway.

Seeing such a strong helper wanting to exit, Ghost Box King naturally disagreed.

"Don't leave, young man! Together, we can definitely defeat him!"

onikiri wasn't buying it and continued to walk away.

Moonlight Rhyme appeared, blocking onikiri's path with a sour expression and saying nothing.

onikiri laughed out of anger.

"Heh, aren't you afraid I'll help the other side? You'd better not provoke me!"

Demonic Aura surged from both sides as they secretly clashed with their presence.

Moonlight Rhyme simply blocked onikiri while condensing arrows to attack Mika, seemingly determined not to let onikiri leave.

onikiri clenched his fists and turned to shout at Mika.

"Hey, cat-eared shorty, how about the two of us take them on together?"

Mika looked around and asked with a frown of uncertainty.

"Calling me?"

onikiri nodded. After all, only Mika had cat ears on his Demonic Aura hood; the name fit perfectly.

Mika said very bluntly.

"I don't need it. Besides, I didn't give you permission to leave!"

The surrounding buildings changed, and the Demonic Aura on Mika's body surged frantically.

Stone walls appeared as if teleporting, sealing off the surroundings completely. Even the space above everyone's heads was blocked, plunging them into darkness.

asuramaru moved closer to feel it.

"It's been reinforced. He must have prepared this for a long time; it won't be broken easily."

Hearing this, the ghosts were somewhat puzzled. Was he preparing for a life-and-death struggle? This environment was useless against them, since they hadn't intended to run anyway.

But soon, they noticed something was wrong.

Accompanied by the sound of something tearing through the air came byakkomaru's scream of pain.

The attack came from the stone walls.

"Just wait for death. I won't allow any danger to remain in my world."

Under the ghosts' very noses, Mika passed through the stone wall and left. Even if they wanted to stop him, it was too late.

onikiri held it in for a long time before saying a word toward the direction Mika had left.

"I'm truly impressed."

As soon as Mika left, countless spikes, like a swarm of angry bees, came whistling toward the ghosts.

After Mika emerged, he gasped for breath. He had prepared this trap for a long time; otherwise, he wouldn't have given up aerial combat to lower his altitude, all to better prepare the trap with Demonic Aura.

He couldn't just leave now; this trap might not necessarily take out all the intruders.

He still had to finish things off.

Somewhere in the city, a small figure ran straight toward the unnaturally dense cluster of skyscrapers.

"Mika, wait for me!"
