"Oh sister of course I won't ever abandon you. Don't you know I love you so much?" Tessa whined dramatically before throwing herself at Lily in a crushing hug.
The poor girl nearly wheezed from the force of it. Lily, who already looked one strong breeze away from turning into dust, only weakly fidgeted in her hold.
God.
The girl was practically a broomstick.
Back in the modern world Tessa would have dragged her straight into a restaurant and forced ten plates of food down her throat. Lily was so skinny it looked like she could vanish into the wind at any moment. Considering how terrible food had been around here, Tessa honestly wouldn't even be surprised if the girl evaporated one day.
Tessa finally released her and glanced sideways at the miserable lion and cat males standing nearby.
Both of them had their heads lowered like guilty criminals awaiting judgment.
