Chapter 5 – A Different Side
The next day during lunch, Sharon sat with her friend Mia outside near the basketball court.
"So," Mia said, smiling mischievously, "how's the project with Dylan going?"
Sharon sighed. "Terrible."
"Really?" Mia said. "Because I heard you two were in the library for two hours."
"That doesn't mean anything."
Mia raised an eyebrow. "Sure."
Before Sharon could respond, she noticed something across the courtyard.
Dylan was standing near the benches with a younger student from the first-year class. The boy looked frustrated as he held a math worksheet.
Sharon watched as Dylan took the paper and started explaining something to him.
After a few minutes, the boy's face lit up with understanding.
"Thanks, Dylan!" the boy said before running off happily.
Sharon blinked.
"That's weird," she murmured.
"What?" Mia asked.
"Dylan… helping someone."
Mia laughed. "You act like he's a villain."
"He's annoying," Sharon corrected.
But she couldn't stop thinking about what she had just seen.
Maybe Dylan wasn't as careless as she thought.
