Once upon a time, an old lion lived in a dense forest. In his youth, he was strong and fierce, but as he grew older, he became weak and unable to hunt for food.
Hungry and desperate, the lion came up with a clever plan.
He lay down inside his cave and pretended to be sick. Then he spread the word among the animals that he was very ill and wished to see them before he died.
One by one, the animals visited the lion's cave to check on him. But none of them ever came out again… because the lion quietly ate each visitor!
After some time, a clever fox decided to visit the lion. As she approached the cave, she noticed something strange — there were many footprints leading into the cave, but none coming out.
The fox stayed at a safe distance and called out:
"Hello, dear lion! I hope you are feeling better."
The lion weakly replied, "Please come inside, my friend. I am too sick to come out."
The fox smiled and said,
"I would gladly come in, but I see many footprints going into your cave… and none coming out. I think it's safer for me to stay right here!"
Realizing he had been outsmarted, the lion growled in frustration as the clever fox walked away safely.
