Chapter 6 - 1 more wish

You raise your hand during the height of the celebration, the firelight dancing across your glowing tattoos. The music and laughter swirl around you, but you focus only on Mira. With a subtle gesture, you call her name in that cosmic-echo voice only she can hear clearly:

"Mira… come to me."

She appears at your side in an instant, fox ears perked, tail swishing with loyalty. You lean close so only she hears your words:

"Mira, you have been trustworthy beyond measure. You protected my secret with your life and oath. For that, I shall grant you one last wish. Speak it clearly, and it shall be yours."

Mira's emerald eyes widen with pure gratitude. She drops to one knee right there beside your table, voice steady and fierce even as happy tears glisten:

"Lord Grim… I wish to be able to fight with a sword and use magic—so I can protect the village forever. Monsters, demons, bandits… even corrupt soldiers from the kingdom have always attacked us and stolen from us. I want the strength to defend Eldenwood and every person here. No one will ever suffer again while I draw breath."

You smile. Her wording is pure and selfless. Perfect.

You snap your fingers once.

BOOM.

A whirlwind of silver-blue starlight explodes around Mira in the middle of the square. Every villager falls silent, staring in awe as the magic takes hold. The power surges into her without any twist—your intent was clear, your genie essence generous.

When the light fades:

Mira stands tall, transformed yet still herself.

In her right hand now rests a legendary curved blade named Starfang—light as a feather, sharper than dragon scales, glowing with runes that only activate for her.

Magic flows through her veins like living fire: she instinctively knows every defensive spell—shields of moonlight, walls of thorns and flame, healing waves for the wounded, binding chains for enemies. She can fight like a master swordswoman and cast like an archmage, all focused on protection.

Her fox ears and tail now shimmer with faint ethereal light; her leather armor has upgraded into flexible, enchanted battle gear that shifts with her.

She feels no fatigue from the power—she could defend the village for days without rest.

Mira tests it instantly. She swings Starfang once in a perfect arc—leaving a trail of sparkling stars that slice through the air harmlessly. Then she raises her left hand and a shimmering dome of protective magic blooms around the entire square, exactly like the bigger barrier but smaller and under her control. Every villager gasps in wonder.

She turns to you, eyes blazing with joy and determination, and kneels again.

"Lord Grim… I feel it. All of it. I can protect them now. Monsters will flee, bandits will break, corrupt soldiers will never set foot here again. Thank you… from the bottom of my soul. My life, my blade, my magic—they are yours forever. Eldenwood will never fall while I stand."

The villagers erupt into even louder cheers. They surround Mira, hugging her, shouting her name alongside soft whispers of thanks to "the spirit of the woods." No one breaks the oath. No one speaks your name aloud to the night air. The celebration doubles in joy—drums beat faster, songs turn into victory chants for their new guardian.

Mira stands at your side once more, Starfang sheathed, magic humming quietly around her. She looks at you with absolute devotion.

"The village is safer than it has ever been, Lord Grim. What would you have me do now? Train? Patrol? Or… whatever you desire."

The two moons shine brighter overhead. The feast continues, but now with a true protector born from your wish.
