Chapter 234 - The Evidence is Conclusive

Fusang did her best to prepare a table of delicious food and drinks. Of course, this standard was for the Land of Rain. Agriculture in the Land of Rain suffered from poor harvests due to constant rainfall, and Bessar's isolationist policies also hindered the import of food from other countries. Therefore, the people of the Land of Rain did not have much food in their homes.

If it weren't to thank Tsunade and the others, Fusang wouldn't have made these dishes. Just this table of food, if she ate frugally, could last her and her husband for a week.

"Simple fare, please don't mind," Fusang said a little apologetically.

"No, no, it's perfectly fine. Actually, you didn't need to make so much; we don't need to eat a lot," Hatake Sakumo quickly replied. Having experienced a decline in his family's fortunes, he understood what preparing such a meal meant to a person from the Land of Rain.

"You've been tirelessly attending to the people of the Land of Rain these past few days, and you probably haven't been paying much attention to your diet. Consider this meal a token of our gratitude," Fusang said with a smile.

Although the medical ninjas' workload had decreased, Tsunade hadn't really paid attention to her diet. Seeing the table of food, she couldn't help but feel a pang of hunger. Despite being made from common ingredients, Fusang's cooking was excellent; even a simple table of dishes was prepared with perfect color, aroma, and taste.

"Then, we shall humbly accept," Hatake Sakumo knew that since the meal was already prepared, they had to eat it. Fusang and Ise alone clearly couldn't finish it all, so he expressed his thanks to Fusang.

"Mm," Fusang smiled and nodded, then scooped some food from the dishes onto other plates, served rice, and took it to Ise in the bedroom. Ise was ill with a somewhat contagious disease, so it was not good for him to eat with everyone else.

After delivering the meal to her husband, Fusang emerged from the bedroom and continued to entertain the others. She proactively served rice to everyone and, while watching them eat, asked if the food was good, showing great concern for their feelings.

There was nothing to criticize about the food Fusang made, and everyone naturally praised it profusely. Fusang, in turn, showed a happy expression. After the meal, Tsunade offered that if Ise needed more medicine or any other assistance, Fusang could always come to the medical team, and she would do her best to help, considering it repayment for Fusang's meal.

Much time had already passed, so Tsunade and the others bid farewell to Fusang and left the house. The Hidden Rain Anbu patiently waited without complaint, simply nodding before escorting Tsunade and her group back to the medical team.

At the medical team's location, Senju Risa, upon learning that remnants of the former leader of the Hidden Rain Village intended to ambush Tsunade, rushed over from the main force. She breathed a sigh of relief only after hearing from the Anbu who had returned earlier that Tsunade was unharmed, and waited for her return at the medical team's station.

Seeing Tsunade and her group appear, Senju Risa quickly stepped forward, carefully scrutinized Tsunade, and let out a soft sigh, saying, "That's wonderful, Lady Tsunade. Fortunately, you noticed their suspicious behavior early and informed the nearby Hidden Rain Anbu, otherwise, who knows what might have happened."

Tsunade's expression was a bit awkward because she hadn't initially thought that way; it was Orochimaru who had done it. But she didn't say anything, otherwise she would surely be scolded, and Orochimaru and Jiraiya wouldn't expose Tsunade, merely watching from the side.

Senju Risa discussed the remaining remnants with the Hidden Rain Anbu. After receiving the necessary answers, she prepared to leave. At this point, Tsunade secretly told her, "Sister Risa, I have something to tell you. It's quite important, and it's best not to let others know."

Senju Risa was a little surprised, not knowing what Tsunade wanted to tell her. Since Tsunade said it was a secret, she considered it for a moment, then led Tsunade to a deserted area in the back. This was where the medical ninjas worked, and to show they had no intention of secretly learning medical ninjutsu, the Hidden Rain Anbu never approached this area. She also told the other medical ninjas not to enter.

Of course, just in case, Senju Risa still prepared some precautions. Once everything was in order, she looked at Tsunade and asked, "Lady Tsunade, what is it?"

"Sister Risa, I actually met someone from the Uzumaki clan here," Tsunade said mysteriously.

"What!" Senju Risa exclaimed in surprise, her voice involuntarily rising. She quickly regained her composure, lowered her voice, and asked, "Really?"

"Really," Tsunade nodded seriously and then explained Fusang's situation.

"Do you have proof that she's from the Uzumaki clan?" Senju Risa couldn't help but frown. Such matters couldn't be spoken of so casually.

"I do," Tsunade said with an air of certainty, describing Fusang's appearance, which was different from the people of the Land of Rain, and how Fusang had looked towards a certain spot before bringing them into the house. "That's where the Hidden Rain Anbu were. She might not be a ninja, but after all, she has the Uzumaki clan's innate sensory abilities, so she might have sensed something. Also, according to Sakumo, Fusang came from out of town, and her every action shows differences from the people of the Land of Rain."

"Moreover, I can confirm she's not from this country," Tsunade said. "Among the dishes served to us, there was a fish dish. Others might not have noticed, but I know the cooking technique used for that dish is identical to those from the Land of Whirlpools."

Because the Land of Whirlpools was an island nation, seafood was its national specialty, and over the years, unique cooking techniques had emerged. Tsunade had witnessed them from her mother. If before it was just suspicion, this cooking technique, unique to the Land of Whirlpools, proved that Fusang was indeed from the Uzumaki clan.

Upon hearing this, Senju Risa believed Tsunade's account. The appearance of someone from the Uzumaki clan in this country was clearly not normal. She felt there must be something fishy going on; however, this was not something she could decide, and it had to be reported to the Hokage.

After leaving the medical team, Senju Risa wrote about this matter in her report to the village, using the Leaf Village's unique cipher, and then sent it via ninja eagle. The ninja eagles, trained by the ninja village, could safely deliver letters to the Leaf Village. The ninja eagle flew away from the Land of Rain, then entered the Land of Fire, and finally arrived at the Leaf Village.

Fumori Masaki had long been waiting for news from the medical team in the Land of Rain. Unfortunately, the outdated communication methods only allowed him to slowly wait for the ninja eagle to deliver the letter. When the ninja eagle finally arrived, he eagerly took down the letter and read it from beginning to end. The medical ninjas' work in the Land of Rain was progressing very smoothly, but the incident mentioned by Senju Risa at the end made the smile on Fumori Masaki's face slowly disappear.

Then, Fumori Masaki thoughtfully put down the letter. Could the Uzumaki clan member Senju Risa mentioned be Nagato's mother? He vaguely remembered Nagato's mother was Fusang. But why would Fusang appear in the Land of Rain at this time? The Land of Whirlpools hadn't been destroyed yet, so the Uzumaki clan members shouldn't be displaced.

Fumori Masaki pondered for a moment, feeling it might be related to what Uzumaki Hikaru had said last time. He then took the letter and headed towards the Senju main residence. He planned to visit Uzumaki Mito and discuss the details of this matter with her.
