Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 The Golden Finger Arrives

Gu Wenchen: "Everyone, don't panic. I have already tested it. If you keep driving forward, you will encounter treasure chests containing some basic resources. If you're lucky, you might even get some special blueprints. Of course, there might be beasts inside the chests, but as long as you are careful, you can kill them with an axe."

At this moment, Gu Wenchen was huddled in the driver's seat, quickly sending messages using his mind. Naturally, he hadn't obtained this information through any experiments.

As the male lead of the original world, he was not without brains, and he was even more adept at utilizing the resources around him.

Therefore, immediately after that voice stopped, he searched through the group members and identified everyone who had a close relationship with him.

Under the guidance and indoctrination of the original world, they were extremely loyal to Gu Wenchen—much like Shen Muyu before she awakened. They were eager to dedicate everything they had to Gu Wenchen, and even the most outrageous requests were rationalized in their minds.

When Gu Wenchen asked them to scout the path ahead, they drove into the endless dark tunnel almost without hesitation, using their own lives to secure vital information and supplies for Gu Wenchen.

After sending the message, Gu Wenchen angrily slammed his hand against the steering wheel in front of him.

He truly couldn't fathom why he, who had always been so lucky and had everything go his way, had been randomly assigned a piece-of-junk vehicle.

At first, he had hoped that this vehicle might have some special function, but after trying every method he could think of, he had no choice but to accept that it was truly just an ordinary piece of junk—a vehicle that could neither recycle trash nor synthesize treasures.

If that weren't enough, the vehicle was bulky, fuel-hungry, and had limited interior space; Gu Wenchen couldn't even lie down flat!

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. To distract himself, he opened the area chat, wanting to see if his efforts had yielded the desired return.

"Ahhh! It's CEO Gu!"

"Who is CEO Gu? Do you have to be so excited?"

"Can someone who knows chime in? Is what he said true?"

"Heh, maybe he's just tricking us into going out to our deaths."

"Exactly. Would rich people like them really be that kind?"

"You ungrateful trash! CEO Gu is sharing this information with you, you should be counting your lucky stars instead of being sarcastic here."

Seeing the word "trash," Gu Wenchen narrowed his eyes slightly. Although the person was speaking on his behalf, the term really annoyed him!

On the other side, Shen Muyu silently exited the area chat after seeing the group of people arguing.

She knew that Gu Wenchen's actions were intended to win everyone's favor, but he was the type of person who wouldn't rest until he obtained rewards far exceeding whatever he had given. Those who were genuinely grateful to him would likely end up with nothing left, not even the clothes on their backs.

To win people over, Gu Wenchen's words were likely true. Having made some preparations, Shen Muyu decided to try it herself; she couldn't stay where she was—her parents were still waiting for her.

With a thought, the green light screen suddenly vanished, and a glowing green stone dropped onto the center console. Unexpectedly, the moment it landed, a red stone appeared beside it.

Shen Muyu knew about the green stone; the area chat had previously mentioned that the green light screen would turn into that once retracted. But what was this red stone?

Shen Muyu carefully picked it up, and just as she was wondering about it, it suddenly transformed into a red light screen, the contents of which were practically a replica of the green light screen.

However, the difference was that the name displayed inside was Ling Lingyi, and the avatar section was still blank.

Shen Muyu frowned as she read through the contents. The chat and mall features worked normally, but the backpack only had seven slots, and the first three were already occupied.

Shen Muyu cast a few appraisal skills, and the information she received made her smile involuntarily.

< diamond axe: Possessing this gives you the confidence to open high-level treasure chests >

< Automatic constant-temperature water dispenser: A little gadget that provides cold and hot water without power. 5L purified water: +10 mood value per 100ml, just a companion for the water dispenser >

< An ordinary in-vehicle AI >

Shen Muyu first took out the diamond axe. In this unknown darkness, the more self-defense items, the better. Besides, the diamond axesounded much stronger than that wooden-handled axe.

The axe was milky white and cool to the touch. Shen Muyu placed a strand of hair on the blade and blew on it lightly; the hair was sliced into two pieces without any effort.

Having witnessed the power of the diamond axe, Shen Muyu immediately used it to replace the wooden-handled axe. There was only one convenient spot, so naturally, she had to place the weapon with greater lethality there. The wooden-handled axe could only weep silently on the floor.

She was afraid that the water dispenser would tip over if placed in the back, so she could only use the space in front of the passenger seat.

She used the passenger seat to wedge the water dispenser in place, but Shen Muyu wasn't quite sure about the size. Fortunately, the light screen automatically formed a projection, and by following it, Shen Muyu adjusted the seat to the appropriate position.

The water dispenser wasn't large, but there were four identical cups in the storage compartment below. Shen Muyu licked her chapped, dry lips, then restrained herself and poured half a cup to drink.

According to the previous voice prompt, items that could increase mood value were undoubtedly very valuable. Her current mood was still high, so there was no need to waste too much.

As for the in-vehicle AI, it automatically integrated into the vehicle the moment she took it out.

"Hello, Master. I am the in-vehicle AI, Avo. You may call me Little A." A voice with a crackling static sound rang out.

"Little A? What functions do you have? Can you handle automatic driving?" Shen Muyu asked, rubbing her chin; she could no longer suppress the smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

"I'm sorry, Master. Little A does not have that capability for the time being." It was clearly an electronic voice devoid of any emotional fluctuation, yet she felt a hint of embarrassment mixed in.

"Oh?" Shen Muyu wasn't disappointed. The word "temporarily" implied that it was possible, perhaps just requiring certain conditions.

"When will you be able to do it?"

"Once Little A reaches level 3, I will be able to drive the vehicle for you, Master." Little A seemed very happy when mentioning this, and its speaking speed increased significantly.

"What level are you now?" Shen Muyu didn't know if these entities started at level 0 or level 1, so she asked.

"Level 1. Currently, Little A can only perform tasks like reporting the time and measuring the temperature. Once I reach level 2, I will be able to scan the situation inside and outside the vehicle."

"What materials do you need to upgrade?" Shen Muyu's tone was slightly eager; once she upgraded Little A to level 3, she could be relieved of the driving task.
