Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - The Shattered Prison

The God of Time

A sleek, crimson car cut through the midnight darkness like a streak of blood, its engine roaring a warning to the night. At the wheel sat no ordinary man—this was Kannan, the sovereign of mystic arts. Behind him sat Naveen and Valli, both barely twenty. Though they possessed some arcane abilities of their own, their youthful faces were now pale with a shared dread.

Their destination: a derelict house in the distance, the lair of a nightmare—a formidable demon capable of mimicking any human form.

Upon reaching the house, Kannan unleashed his power, ensnaring the entity within a small, ornate Mystic Urn. "Guard this with your lives," Kannan warned. "If it breaks, disaster will follow." He handed it to them and they headed back to the car.

But on the return journey, a petty squabble erupted between Naveen and Valli. The struggle caused the vessel to slip, and with a devastating CRACK, the jar shattered into a thousand pieces on the car floor.

Kannan slammed on the brakes. Naveen and Valli looked at him, trembling. "Grandpa... it's broken!"

"Grandpa... you are the Sovereign of Mystic Arts! Why can't you just destroy it now?" Naveen asked in shock.

"I don't have that power anymore, Naveen... it's all gone!" Kannan shouted as he floored the accelerator. "I'll explain later. For now, just watch the back!"

Valli peered out of the rear window. "Grandpa, hurry! It's gaining on us!"

The creature was a nightmare made of flesh. Suddenly, small, shadowy figures began to crawl out from the monster's many eyes—it was birthing a new army of demons!

"Valli! Prepare the Mystic Bow!" Naveen shouted.

They unleashed a relentless barrage. Just then, an ancient spark ignited within Kannan's eyes. A primordial burst of flame erupted from his gaze, incinerating the demon army into ash.

But the victory was short-lived. The engine sputtered and died. They were out of fuel.

"Grandpa! The petrol is gone! What do we do?!" Valli screamed.

Kannan leaped out of the car, his eyes fixed on a silhouette. "Don't look back! Run into that house! Now!"

Would that mysterious house offer them sanctuary, or was it merely another death trap? Where did Kannan's true power go? And had the many-eyed demon truly been defeated?
