Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Unexpected

The Four Sect Masters did not continue to discuss the Yun Sect's affairs. After all, even if the Yun Sect really wanted to be tough, their four subordinate Sects had no possibility of refusal.

The next day, just as the sky brightened, Ye Liuyun went out early.

"Ah! It's time. I hope no unexpected events happen today." Ye Liuyun was going to gather.

However, before leaving, she discovered that the peach tree stump that had been struck by lightning had changed. She saw a blue sapling sprouting from the center of the peach tree stump.

"Yo, a sapling has grown?" Ye Liuyun walked over with some surprise.

This blue Spirit Peach Tree sapling looked very delicate, and it was crystal clear. Just by looking at it, one knew it was no ordinary sapling.

"Tsk tsk, kid, this mutated Spirit Peach Tree probably has a chance to become a new Heaven and Earth Spirit Plant. You're either extremely lucky or extremely unlucky," Lin Qingyou exclaimed.

Ye Liuyun smiled faintly.

"It doesn't matter. Whether luck is good or bad, one still has to live. You can't just find a place to crash and die because of bad luck, can you? Besides, I can't die, so whether luck is good or bad isn't important anymore," Ye Liuyun said before heading towards the meeting point.

At the same time, above the Cloud Peak, a dozen miles away from the Yunxia Sect, a massive and magnificent Dharma Artifact flying ship, like a giant whale swimming in the sea, was flying towards the Yunxia Sect at an extremely high speed.

Many people, both men and women, stood on the flying ship. The Yun Sect disciples' attire was similar to that of the Yunxia Sect, but more grand and elegant.

"I never thought there would be a day I'd return. I wonder what kind of expressions and attitudes my senior sisters, senior brothers, and master will have when they see me," a young cultivator who appeared to be in his twenties stood at the bow of the ship, gazing at the distant Floating Cloud Mountain, and sighed.

"Junior Brother Yun Che, you don't need to care about their opinions. These lower-level sects will never understand one truth: our Yun Sect and their Four Great Sects are a community of shared destiny. If our Yun Sect collapses, their status won't be secure either. Yet, asking them to send their excellent disciples to the Yun Sect is like asking for their lives every time," the middle-aged man beside the youth said with a sarcastic and mocking tone.

This young man, Yun Che, was from the Yunxia Sect. He was Yun Yun's junior brother and Yun Tian's last closed-door disciple.

He joined the Yunxia Sect about two hundred years ago, but after decades there, he was noticed by the Yun Sect and subsequently joined them, becoming a Yun Sect disciple.

His aptitude was probably the best among all of Yun Tian's disciples. His cultivation had already surpassed Yun Hui and others, reaching the Dao Palace Fourth Layer of Nascent Soul Realm, the same level as Yun Yun, and he was more than a hundred years younger than Yun Yun.

"But why does the sect do this? Why can't they calmly explain the pros and cons to the four lower-level sects? I believe if they make it clear, they should be able to understand the Yun Sect's current situation," Yun Che murmured.

"Haha, Junior Brother Yun Che, aren't you too naive? If sects in the Cultivation World could be convinced by words alone, would we still need to cultivate? Would we still need to fight? Everyone could just close their doors and play by themselves; why bother with all this killing?"

"You must know, if our Yun Sect declines, the Upper Sect will reselect intermediate sects. Those four families will not face the challenge with our Yun Sect. It would be good if they didn't stab us in the back," the middle-aged man sneered.

His worries were also valid. If the Yun Sect's overall strength was insufficient to qualify as an intermediate sect, the Upper Sect, Supreme Perception Sect, would definitely re-select suitable intermediate sects.

And according to the rules of the Tang Country Cultivation World, suitable medium-sized sects would challenge the Yun Sect, almost certainly in a life-and-death struggle.

The winning sect would occupy the Yun Sect and become the new intermediate sect, while the losing one would either disband on the spot or be annihilated.

Under normal circumstances, the Yunxia Sect and the other Four Sects should help the Yun Sect, but often, these lower-level sects would choose to betray their Upper Sect and defect to other sects for self-preservation. Therefore, the Yun Sect certainly did not trust the Four Great Sects and couldn't trust them.

If the Yun Sect lost, there would be no chance of recovery, but the Four Great Sects were different. At most, they would switch to a new main sect or give up their lower-level sect's enfeoffment, at least preserving themselves.

This time, all the people sent by the Yun Sect were disciples taken from the Four Great Sects within the last three hundred years. The quality of these disciples was much stronger than those of the Four Great Sects; the worst of them were at the Spirit Pattern Realm.

In the Yun Sect, a Dao Palace First Layer cultivator could at most enter the Inner Sect, a Dao Palace Second Layer could become an important Inner Sect Disciple, a Dao Palace Third Layer could become a Core Disciple of the Yun Sect, and a Dao Palace Fourth Layer could become a Sect Seed or an Elder.
