A boy was playing near the river close to his house one evening. Suddenly he slipped and fell into the river. A man was passing by. The boy shouted, "Help! Please pull me out!" At first, the man just stood there and began telling the boy how foolish it was of him to play near the river. But the boy kept shouting and asking for help. Finally, the man threw a long, stick towards the boy and pulled him out safely. The boy was sorry for being so careless and promised never again to play near the river but to play in a safer place. He thanked the man and went back home
