Footsteps approached from my side, pulling me out of my head. They stopped about three feet away, and I rolled my neck and opened my eyes to see who had come to interrupt me.
"You did well today, Novie." Sean smiled down at me.
I frowned up at him, taking in his sweaty, ragged appearance. He was shirtless, and while I had been happily admiring a certain similar physique not long ago, Sean was nowhere near as attractive to me. The testosterone in the air was thick, and I glanced behind him to see most of the men drifting over toward the group of flirty girls.
"Thank you," I said, stretching my legs out in front of me instead of keeping them crossed.
"How was the run?" He smiled and dropped down onto the ground beside me.
I rolled my eyes. "Horrible."
"What does your watch say?" He nodded toward my wrist.
I shrugged and looked down at it, pulling it off. "I dunno how this thing works."
