Tara had just come back from the bathroom only to find that her friends were still where she had left them. She looked at them, then glanced around before asking,
"Are you waiting for someone or something?"
They all turned to look at her.
"We were," Anika replied with a smile.
"Mmh, we need to watch you until you're in safe territory," Tiana replied.
"Let's go back to the hall," Kalon said.
They all left the hallway and returned to the hall. Standing near the food table, they chatted comfortably. The atmosphere was pleasant as they talked and enjoyed the soft background music.
In the Logan Mansion...
Inside the study, the patriarch sat on his grand chair with his eyes closed, leaning back comfortably. A knock sounded on the door.
Without opening his eyes, he calmly said,
"Come in."
A man almost his age walked into the study and closed the door behind him. He approached the patriarch and bowed his head respectfully.
