Jayjay'sPOV
I woke up from a slight movement beside me, my brain feeling a little fuzzy. Oh, right. Yesterday, Keifer and I had ended up falling fast asleep right here inside our makeshift blanket fort while watching movies.
I blinked my eyes open, and the very first thing I saw was Keifer's face right next to mine. His powerful arms were wrapped tightly around my waist, and his head was buried comfortably in the crook of my neck. I tried to gently pry his arms off me so I could sit up, but the second I moved them, he stubbornly pulled them right back, locking me in place.
"Keifer... move," I muttered sleepily, shoving his shoulder.
"Five more minutes, wifey," he muttered back, his voice deep and raspy from sleep.
"Today we have school, get up," I said, trying to sound firm.
"Please... just a little more," he pleaded, tightening his grip. Honestly, I was still so exhausted and sleepy myself, so I gave in. I let him be and drifted right back to sleep.
The next time I woke up, it was to the loud, aggressive blaring of my phone alarm. I scrambled to check the time, and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. We were late!
I immediately started shaking Keifer roughly. "Wake up! We're late!" I shouted.
He groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. I sat up right along with him. He blinked at me with half-closed, sleepy eyes for a second, and then, without warning, he wrapped his arms around me again and pulled me right back down onto the pillows.
"It's okay, we can just skip one day," he mumbled into the blankets.
"No!" I said quickly. Even though a huge part of me desperately wanted to stay in bed, I knew my Kuya would literally kill me if I missed school.
Keifer sat up again, knitting his dark brows together in annoyance. "Fine," he muttered reluctantly.
He finally crawled out of the fort and went to change. I bolted to my room too and quickly got ready into my uniform. When I came out, I spotted Keifer standing by the mirror, clumsily fumbling with his uniform tie.
I raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Wow. Look at you. Now you can actually tie that yourself?" I teased, walking over.
He looked at me through the mirror, looking a bit embarrassed. "Umm, no. I was just trying. I still don't actually know how to do it for myself."
He stepped closer to me, tilting his chin up. I rolled my eyes and reached up, expertly looping and adjusting his tie for him. Once the knot was perfectly in place, I looked up at him. The ends of his tie were still gripped firmly in my hands, and a sudden wave of mischief hit me. I gave the fabric a sharp, hard yank, jokingly choking him.
Keifer instantly gasped and started coughing, his eyes widening in shock.
I just grinned at him cutely. "Now wear your ID card," I ordered, patting his chest.
He nodded, rubbing his neck with a helpless smile. With that handled, the two of us headed downstairs, quickly ate our breakfast, and immediately left for school.
We were riding in the car together when Keifer suddenly broke the silence.
"Our first class is cancelled today because of some teachers' meeting," Keifer said smoothly, keeping his eyes on the road.
I nodded, adjusting my uniform. "Ahm, okay."
He glanced over at me for a brief second before shifting his gaze back to the front. "I have a surprise for you."
I immediately turned my head to look at him, my curiosity spiking. "What?"
"If I told you what the surprise was, then it wouldn't exactly be a surprise anymore, would it?" he reasoned, a small smirk playing on his face.
I let out a loud sigh. "I don't want surprises. I want to know right now what it is," I complained, crossing my arms over my chest stubbornly.
"And I want to give you a surprise, wifey," he shot back playfully. He reached over with one hand and gently poked my cheek. "Your chubby cheeks make you look even more cute."
My cheeks instantly flamed up, burning hot.
"And look at that—now they're completely red from blushing," he teased softly.
I quickly snapped my face toward the window, staring out at the passing streets to hide my expression. "No, I am absolutely not blushing! It's just really hot in here!"
Keifer let out a rich chuckle, his eyes crinkling. "But the AC is on maximum."
I pretended to completely ignore him, focusing entirely on the view outside until we finally reached the school gates. The moment the car parked, I practically bolted out of the seat. I marched toward our classroom as fast as my legs could carry me before he could even catch up, but when I reached the door, it was firmly locked.
I turned around and looked at Keifer, confused. He simply shrugged, walking up to me with a mysterious look in his eyes. Before I could ask what was going on, he stepped behind me and placed both of his large hands gently over my eyes, completely blocking my vision.
"What are you doing?" I asked, my heart fluttering a little.
"Surprise, darling," he whispered deeply against my ear.
He slowly started leading me forward, guiding my steps carefully so I wouldn't trip. I didn't protest and just let him guide me through the campus. As we walked, a very familiar, nostalgic scent suddenly hit my nose. My eyebrows knitted together. What on earth is going on...?
"Keifer..." I murmured, getting anxious.
"Shh. We're here," he whispered back.
Slowly, he removed his hands from my face. I blinked against the morning light, and the second my vision cleared, the sight in front of me made my eyes instantly tear up. A gasp escaped my throat, and I covered my mouth tightly with both of my hands.
It was back.
Standing before me, rebuilt perfectly to the exact situation we had left it in, was our beloved Section E building. It looked completely untouched by the past destruction. And standing right in front of the building were the ulupongs, lined up perfectly by the infamous tall rod where they had once hoisted my schoolbag, claiming it was their official flag.
I looked behind me and saw Keifer standing there, watching me with a massive, incredibly proud smile. The tears blurred my eyes, but I couldn't stop the huge grin from spreading across my face.
Right on cue, Ci-N marched forward with a serious expression, snatched the schoolbag right out of my hands, and ran over to the rod. The boys quickly hitched it up, pulling the string until my bag flew high in the air like a flag.
Then, they all snapped into a perfectly straight line and hoisted their hands up to their brows.
"SALUTE THE FLAG!" Ci-N shouted at the top of his lungs.
"SOLID SECTION E!" the entire squad roared in perfect unison, their voices echoing across the yard.
I couldn't help it—I just burst into loud, happy laughter at their ridiculous, beautiful madness. They gave me my bag backa and we started walking through the hallway, everything was new even the paint but if the paint is new then from where did every drawing and writing on the walls were the same.
"How? Wasn't it supposed to be demolished?" I asked, my voice cracking slightly as I looked around in disbelief.
"It was going to be, but your husband didn't let them," Yuri said, stepping forward with a smile.
"Instead of letting them tear it down, he paid them to completely rebuild it from scratch," David added, leaning against the doorway.
"But then... all this stuff? And the writing on the walls? How on earth is all of it back?" I asked, my eyes darting to every familiar scratch and scribble on the walls as we slowly walked into our old classroom.
"Oh, we did that part ourselves again," Calix said proudly.
I blinked at him, completely puzzled. "Huh?"
"I mean, we took a bunch of pictures of the building before it was demolished," Felix explained thoroughly. "Then, using those pictures as a reference, we recreated all the details and drawings again."
I paused, calculating the timeline in my head. "Wait... you guys couldn't possibly have done all of this in just one day."
"Yeah, we couldn't," Rory chimed in with a grin. "But we have allies who pitched in and helped us get it done."
"Ohhh," I murmured, a wave of understanding washing over me. They meant the other factions and students who respected Section E.
"So... this building will never be demolished ever again?" I asked, looking around the room before turning my gaze to Keifer.
Instead of answering me directly, they all looked at Keifer too. "Not unless your husband allows them to," Eren teased playfully.
I rolled my eyes, a bit annoyed by their constant teasing. "You guys can just say 'Keifer,' you know."
"Yeah, but now you're officially his wife and he's your husband, so we're obviously going to say that!" Ci-N giggled loudly, before turning around and running excitedly into the classroom.
I finally stepped fully inside, and my breath hitched. It was all back. Everything. Though there was one major upgrade—a brand new, shiny air conditioner was now installed on the wall!
I walked over to my desk. It was the exact same seat, placed perfectly in the middle of Yuri's and Keifer's desks. Looking closer, I even saw the tiny piece of fabric from my uniform skirt still caught on the edge of the wood from back then. I smiled, turning my head to look at the corner of the room. Even the kitchen supplies and cooking gear were set up in their usual spot.
"We aren't banned from the school cafeteria anymore, so why do we still have all those?" I asked, pointing a finger at the pots and pans.
"Just in case Section E's resident gluttons decide they need an emergency snack," Eman said, and the entire room burst into loud laughter.
I rolled my eyes at their typical antics, but a warm, happy feeling settled deep in my chest. Sitting down at my desk, I began happily organizing my things, feeling like I was finally right back where I belonged.
There was still quite a bit of time left before the next class bell, and the boys were already fighting over the new AC remote like they had literally seen one for the very first time in their lives. I mean, it's not like we didn't have an air conditioner in our classroom back in the main building, but they had never acted this ridiculously over it there. So why on earth were they doing it now?
I just let them be, shaking my head as I looked around the room.
"Put it on freezing cold! Then he'll finally understand!" Mayo shouted at the top of his lungs, aggressively throwing the remote across the room toward Ci-N.
Ci-N completely missed the catch, but Felix's hand shot out and caught it out of mid-air.
"Are you guys completely mad?!" Felix asked angrily, glaring at the crowd. "Have you seriously seen an AC for the first time or what?"
"Nope, we've seen it before! But unfortunately for you, we are officially back in our old classroom, and we are going to be the old, solid Section E all over again!" Drew yelled back, instantly snatching the remote right out of Felix's hand.
And just like that, the remote control started flying wildly across the room again. It didn't stop its dangerous flight until David leaped up and caught it firmly in his hands.
"Not freezing cold or anything!" David declared authoritatively. He spun around and tossed the remote toward Yuri, but his aim was slightly off.
The plastic remote sailed through the air and landed with a soft thud right on top of Keifer's desk.
Instantly, everyone stopped dead in their tracks. The entire room went dead silent. Even Yuri, who had been ready to catch it, immediately leaned back in his chair with a peaceful, smug expression. He knew exactly whose territory that remote had just landed on, which meant absolutely no one would dare touch it now.
Keifer slowly picked up the remote, his face expressionless. He casually moved his arm forward, extending it toward the ulupongs. Believing he was actually handing it over, the boys eagerly reached out to grab it—but right at the last second, Keifer pulled his hand back and dropped the remote straight into my lap.
The boys froze mid-air, their hands hovering. Before they could even attempt to steal it from me, Keifer spoke up, his voice dropping into a deep, commanding tone.
"No one touches it. Jayjay can set the temperature."
A collective groan echoed through the classroom as everyone instantly backed off, slumping into their seats in defeat. I looked down at the remote, chuckled, and immediately tossed it over to Yuri's desk.
"Do whatever you want with it," I said, leaning back comfortably in my own chair.
Taking advantage of my relaxed posture, Keifer quietly slipped his large hand under the desk and firmly gripped my hand. I instantly looked over at him, my brows furrowing in warning, but he just flashed me a cocky smirk and refused to let go.
Before I could physically fight him off, the classroom door swung open and Sir Alvin walked in. Panicking, I violently yanked my hand out of Keifer's grip and sat up straight.
"Good morning, class," Sir Alvin greeted us with a warm smile.
"Good morning, Sir!" we all chanted back, our voices ringing out in perfect unison.
"I hope you guys are happy to finally have your building back," Sir Alvin said, his eyes crinkling happily as he looked around the newly restored room.
"Happy, Sir?" David scoffed playfully, as the others nodded vigorously along with him. "We aren't just happy. We are the absolute happiest!"
"Okay, okay," Sir Alvin chuckled softly, shaking his head at our usual high energy. "Let's start now."
He turned to the chalkboard, and with bright smiles on all of our faces, we officially started our very first lesson back in the Section E building.
Lunchtime finally came, and we all decided to eat a meal that had been prepared entirely by Eman's own hands. Hahahaha, we are honestly so cruel to him now.
"FOOD! FOOD! FOOD! FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!" we all chanted in a roaring, hungry rhythm while Eman and a few of the other boys brought out the freshly cooked dishes.
Realizing I had completely forgotten to wash up, I quickly stepped out to the washroom to wash my hands. But by the time I rushed back into the classroom, there was only a tiny, measly portion of food left. The ulupongs had absolutely decimated it.
I rolled my eyes at their bottomless stomachs and sat down at my desk. I scraped the remaining bits of food onto my plate and reluctantly started eating, knowing it wouldn't be enough. Then, completely out of nowhere, a hand suddenly slid a fully loaded plate right in front of me.
I blinked and looked up to see who it was. Of course, it was Keifer.
He smiled down at me softly and smoothly snatched my nearly empty plate away. "You eat that one," he said, sitting down and immediately digging into my old plate—well, the one that was his now.
"Isn't that way too less for you?" I asked, already happily eating from the generous plate he had just gifted me.
"Nope. I ate way too much at breakfast," he replied, chewing casually. I nodded, satisfied with his answer, and focused entirely on finishing my lunch.
When I finally emptied the plate, I looked over at Keifer. He had finished his small portion a while ago and was just sitting there, silently watching me with an amused expression.
"You want more?" he asked, noticing my gaze.
I nodded rapidly, rubbing my stomach to show him I was still craving something. He stood up without a word and disappeared for a moment. When he walked back into the classroom, he was holding a plate piled high with crispy, golden lechon skin.
My eyes lit up. I literally clapped my hands in pure joy and dove right in.
"You want some?" I managed to ask, holding a piece out. He shook his head. I just shrugged and went straight back to happily crunching on the delicious skin.
"Whoa! Where on earth did you get that from?" Ci-N gasped, eyeing my plate like a vulture. He lunged forward, trying to sneak a piece, but I aggressively pulled my plate back and hid it out of his reach.
"Keifer brought it for me!" I said, my mouth completely full of crunchy lechon.
"From where?!" Blaster demanded, his mouth practically watering.
"Dunno," I muttered, shrugging my shoulders.
Keifer leaned back in his chair, giving them a cool look. "It's in the other room. Go get some for yourselves."
The words had barely left his mouth before the entire squad scrambled to their feet and ran out of the classroom like a stampede. A minute later, they all came rushing back with their own plates piled high, happily crashing back into their spots to feast.
I turned to Keifer, still curious. "Seriously, from where did you get that?"
Instead of answering right away, Keifer reached out with a soft napkin and gently wiped the crumbs away from the corner of my mouth. "I ordered it," he said simply.
I nodded, completely satisfied with that explanation. Once lunch was officially over, the boys got up to clean up the absolute mess they had made. Meanwhile, I just walked casually back into the classroom and sat down comfortably.
Hahahaha, I'm the class president's wife, I don't clean.
As the thought crossed my mind, a weird sense of familiarity hit me. Wait... this line feels like I've definitely heard it somewhere before.
Oh, yeah. I remember now. Back then, Keifer had smugly told me: "I'm the class president, I don't clean."
Look who's talking now! The tables had officially turned, and I was going to enjoy every single second of it.
I leaned back in my chair, propping my feet up onto a nearby stool as I watched the ulupongs argue over who was responsible for wiping down the desks. Seeing them scrub the floors while I sat back peacefully was the ultimate victory.
The End 🌸.
