Chapter 29 - Syrup

Making a mana potion sounded a lot harder than it would turn out to be.

The bear was the inspiration for this idea, it has so much condensed mana that small chunks of its meat could fully restore someone's mana. While normally it would take an hour or two for all your mana to return, with food with high mana contents, you could speed up the process.

Everyone has the same mana capacity, only purity could change, which would make spells more potent for less cost, so having ways to restore your mana in the middle of a fight could bridge the gap in purity, as well as the downsides of long term fights.

The process of making mana potions would be done by reducing the berry juice into a syrup. The hardest part of this process would be to make a pan that could hold the juice as it is reduced.

There were a few ways Isaac could have done this, but none of them were easy. By far the easiest way would be to make a clay pan and fire it. The process only took about a week to make a few questionable pots, but they would work for now.

Isaac didn't have the time to complain as he only had about a week before the attack on the windbless began, and he still had a lot of things to prep for it, one of them being his reluctance to kill them since they were people just like him.

While Isaac was working on the pot, he was also focused on growing the berry bushes, on top of his training, which now included some light physical workouts.

Reducing the juice was almost too easy, as it only took around fifteen minutes for the first batch of berries to turn into syrup, which then got brought into the true world, so I could quickly put it in his mouth with just a thought.

He still kept some berries for eating, but most went towards the syrup, which would not spoil inside his true world, due to the unsafe living environment for bacteria.

After cleaning the pot sat inside his true world, along with most of his things. He grew to understand that most things would be safer in his true world, and with its size, he still had room to spare, since everything could be pulled out at a moment's notice.

As the sun rose on the halfway point of April, a tanned woman walked out of the forest. She wore clothes just like Isaac, which he had gotten from Tiy.

Isaac quickly turned around and pointed his bow at the women.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

The woman stopped walking as an arrow was brought from Isaac's true world. The woman had an air of familiarity, but the only two people Isaac knew were Stug and Tiy.

The woman raised her hands and spoke in an even tone.

"Okay, jokes over, Isaac, now put the bow down."

Isaac held the bow even tighter, as he had no clue who this person was or how they knew his name.

"How about you answer my questions first, and then I'll consider it."

The woman sighed

"Isaac, it's me, Tiy. Can't you just use your eyes for once?"

Isaac was not going to believe them for a second, mainly because he practically knew every inch of Tiy's face since he had to see it for a month straight, and it still haunted his dreams every so often, and because Tiy was purple.

Isaac's grip on the arrow grew lighter as he was getting ready to shoot.

"If you were Tiy, then why aren't you purple then?"

The woman shook her and spoke.

"My skin is only purple because of one of my traits that lets me store mana from living things. The mana goes under my skin and acts like a big tattoo."

The woman steps back and grabs a tree, and soon enough, as the tree withers, the woman becomes slightly more purple. Isaac lowers his bow as he watches the scene. It was hard to forget since it was something that ran through his mind every time he saw her.

Isaac shook his head.

"Wait, so you really are Tiy?"

Tiy rolled her eyes as she walked closer.

"Yes, it's me. What don't tell me you forgot what I looked like."

Isaac put his bow back into his true world and began acting like he didn't just try to shoot her.

"No, it's just. You look better in purple, it makes you more recognisable in a crowd."

Tiy walked over to his small hut and sat under the warmth of the healing circle.

"You know I missed healing magic, it sure knows how to work wonders, except for when it's removing curses. Anyway, what was the trick you used to bring your bow out super fast?"

Isaac stopped walking over to her and hit his face. He hadn't considered that it might have really been her, so he was ready to fight without any stops, but it seems like he would have to tell her another secret, or maybe just a clearly ridiculous one.

"It is a space built from my main trait that lets me become the god of a world, deep inside of the [void], and I only have it because of my forgetting everything I know."

Tiy sat there staring at Isaac before speaking.

"You do know you could have just told me you don't want to say. No need to make such a weird lie."

Isaac let out a quiet laugh at her dismissal.

"So quick to shut it down. After everything we have seen, you really think a pocket universe is so out of the question?"

Tiy thinks about it before nodding.

"I guess you're right, we have seen some weird stuff, but a universe where you're in control is a bit far fetched."

Isaac shrugged and sat next to her.

"So why are you here?"

Tiy responded calmly.

"Simple, we are going windblessed hunting, and I need to make sure you are ready."
