Chapter 72 - Black Widow and the Calm Before the Storm

"This isn't the world of One Punch Man. There aren't endless monsters for me to fight, to grind levels on. Here… I'm already standing at the very top."

In Saitama's world, monsters emerged one after another without end. His overwhelming strength had not come overnight—it was forged through relentless, life-and-death battles, day after day, pushing past his limits again and again until he shattered the very limiter that bound all living beings.

But the Marvel Universe was different.

There were no such endless enemies here.

If Peter wanted to grow stronger…

He could only rely on himself.

And so, after his latest sacrifice, he obtained something extraordinary—

A training method from the world of Dragon Ball.

The Gravity Chamber.

Invented by Bulma's father, its purpose was simple, yet terrifyingly effective.

After all, Son Goku himself had used it to achieve explosive growth.

From a power level of barely twenty thousand on Earth, Goku had trained under extreme gravity during his journey to Namek, pushing his strength into the hundreds of thousands. With the Kaio-ken, he even reached the million-tier—all within mere months.

Saiyan bloodlines had limits.

Even Super Saiyan was, in essence, a breakthrough against those limits.

But Peter?

He had no such ceiling.

His limiter was already gone.

Once, his body had been like a container—its capacity fixed.

Now?

The bottom had shattered.

The entire world had become his reservoir.

There was no longer a boundary to how strong he could grow.

"Twenty times gravity… and I can barely feel any pressure anymore."

Standing in his Long Island mansion, Peter exhaled slowly as the last traces of his training faded. Outside, the harbor glowed under the orange hues of the setting sun.

Water droplets clung to his body as he stepped out of the bathroom—but with a slight tremor of his muscles, steam rose from his skin, and his body dried instantly.

He casually tossed aside the towel and glanced at the time before beginning to get dressed.

Tonight, there was a party.

Hosted by a certain self-absorbed genius celebrating the completion of his new headquarters.

And as the second-largest shareholder of Stark Industries—

Peter had no reason to miss it.

"Ah—!"

A soft gasp sounded behind him.

Peter turned.

Standing there was a woman of striking beauty—her figure flawless, her posture elegant, her presence impossible to ignore. Fiery red hair framed a captivating face, and the faint blush on her cheeks only made her more alluring.

"I'm sorry," she said, lowering her gaze slightly. "The door wasn't closed, so I just walked in."

Peter simply turned back, unfazed.

He pulled on his underwear, then slipped into a pair of trousers. Though his upper body remained bare, the moment had already lost its edge.

"Natasha," he said calmly, "what do you need?"

Natasha Romanoff.

Officially, she was his new assistant—assigned after Felicia had been promoted to CEO of Umbrella's U.S. division.

Unofficially…

She was the Black Widow.

Of course, Peter knew that perfectly well.

Through Pierce, he had forced his way into S.H.I.E.L.D., and there was no way Nick Fury would let that go without a response. Placing someone close to Peter was inevitable.

And Natasha?

She was the obvious choice.

Peter had no reason to refuse.

After all…

She was exceptionally capable.

In terms of handling affairs, she was even more meticulous than Felicia. Where Felicia excelled in business, Natasha dominated in everything else—logistics, organization, personal management. She could handle every aspect of daily life with seamless precision.

As for espionage?

Peter wasn't concerned in the slightest.

His secrets weren't stored in files.

They were in his mind.

And Natasha Romanoff?

She might be the world's most dangerous spy…

But she wasn't capable of stealing that.

In fact—

What interested Peter more…

Was the opposite.

What would happen if he turned her?

Would Nick Fury lose his composure?

Or would the man keep his usual cold restraint, hiding everything behind that single unblinking eye?

Watching Natasha's carefully performed embarrassment, Peter finished dressing and took the document from her hand.

"Oh… Otto Octavius has agreed?" he murmured, scanning the contents. "And Dr. Reed Richards has shown interest as well…"

He nodded slightly.

"Tell Felicia she did well. Keep following up. As for Dr. Richards—schedule a meeting. I'll handle him personally."

He handed the document back—

Then gave Natasha a teasing glance.

The faint blush on her face deepened.

Peter smiled.

If she wanted to act—

He would let her act.

All the way.

After all, he was curious.

Just how would the legendary Black Widow approach a target like him?

Young.

Wealthy.

Powerful.

And far too dangerous to control.

Moments later, the roar of an engine shattered the quiet.

Within ten minutes, Peter and his assistant arrived before a towering skyscraper—

Stark Tower.

At the same time—

Far beyond Earth, in the cold darkness of space…

A disheveled figure stood in silence, his expression grim as he faced the being seated upon a throne.

A Titan.

And with that silent gaze—

The calm before the storm finally began to break.

War…

Was coming.
