'What a cliche way to go'
Ray said as he lay there on the ground looking at the sky, it was cloudless on this particular day and the sky was a light blue with the sun shining down on him.
Ray had just been knocked by a car, while saving a kid from being knocked by said car.
His body had acted on its own for whatever reason and he had managed to save the girl from dying but in doing so his own death had come.
He was very glad that he could not feel anything right now because he could only imagine what his body looked like right now.
'How... boring'
He thought to himself, but if he was being honest with himself his life had not really been anything interesting.
Typical sob story.
Born and abandoned by his family and left in an orphanage where he, after many hard hours of learning managed to reach university and had begun studying medicine.
After a while he had grown tired of life
Why was it so boring? How was it that absolutely nothing interesting happened in his life
'Well, at least the girl is alive.'
He said, his ears picking up the sound of her crying, maybe a scraped leg or arm but alive.
He managed to close his eyes and smiled
But somehow, death never actually claimed him or at least it seemed so.
Ray opened his eyes and started to think
'...Did I lose consciousness?'
He thought as his eyes looked at the seemingly plain white room
'Hospital?'
He tried to wake up from the bed but suddenly saw that he was not in a bed, nor was he in a hospital. In fact he did not even have eyes to see
'What the fuck?!'
He had begun to panic turning whatever he had for a body only to 'see' nothing but white.
This entire place was white
Before he could think further a voice sounded in his ear
[Host has been selected.]
[Connection Established.]
'What the... where is that voice coming from...?'
He thought and then vocalized that thought
"Who's there?!"
He looked around frantic
But the voice didn't seem to care about his fear or anxiety
[You have been chosen by the gods.]

[You have 3 wishes.]
The voice went silent after that, leaving Ray to his thoughts.
'What...the hell'
He was unable to tell if he should feel shocked or ectatic, or even if he was insane, after all - he had just been hit by a car.
'Is this ...real?'
The voice returned once more as if responding to his question
[Yes.]
Ray started to laugh in glee but stopped abruptly
'Wait... my favourite story...'
He gulped
'I will be reincarnated into reverend insanity?'

He felt a shiver run up his spine
It may not have been the worse story to be reincarnated into, after all - some worlds would have his mind turn to mush the moment he stepped into them
That did not mean the Gu world was not vicious and dangerous too.
It was a world were only those willing to grasp their chances to succeed
'What are the limits on the wishes?'
He thought to himself but became glad when the voice responded

He let out a relieved sigh

Ah and lock the sovereign immortal aperture at rank 6 till my mortal aperture reaches rank 6 too then their progress must be joined, Oh and also....'
He was about to continue relaying the first wish but the voice seemed to have grown irritated and deemed what he had already requested to be enough in his first wish.

Ray paused, his expression blank
'Well... It wouldn't have called it one wish if i kept saying and to add more...'
He smiled and didn't even care
What he had already asked for was completely ridiculous but had been granted
He started to think of his second wish
'What is the limit on the number of...' He put on a thinking face and smiled suddenly
'The limit on Rank 10 Gu?'
The voice remained silent for a second as if smiling at his greed

As far as he knew there were no rank 10 gu currently in the gu world, or at least not at the start of the story and judging from the nature of his first wish he could design them too

He started to think again and shortly after he came to his answers
The first Gu needed to be one that will eliminate the worlds greatest threat and also allow him to make use of that threat

The effects are eternal and effects every part of their existence across even the river of time making them believe that they always cared for you and always will.'
What better way to deal with Fang Yuan, someone who was gifted the most by both heavens will and the venerables than to make him a brother, to make Fang Yuan care more for Ray than himself?
The voice did not speak and Ray knew why, it was waiting for him to make his next two Gu since he had suggested 3 initially
'Rank 10 Essence Stone Gu - once every month in the Gu world it produces 1 million immortal essence stones'
He smiled
Essence stones were not only a currency but also a means of replenishing essence and also had other uses
If he had 1 million stones a month that was the equivalent of 1 bead of rank 9 yellow apricot immortal essence.'

'Rank 10 Divine Copy Gu - It allows me to create an identical copy of anything - even an immortal Gu and materials.'
The voice remained silent but spoke suddenly and Ray expected it to decline but instead, a limit was placed on the Gu
[Divine Copy Gu can be created - but in the case immortal Gu are created, it can not be moved into the real world and must eternally remain within the aperture, also - to copy an item it must be viewed with the eyes.]
Ray just stared confused
'Are those really the only limitations?'
They honestly seemed nothing like limitations at all but Ray could see the logic behind it
Immortal Gu could only have 1 exist at a time in the Gu world and even in others apertures, but Ray's previous wish allowed his aperture to act outside of heaven and so it could hold things that should not be held.
'Yeah that's absolutely fine!'
He said

Ray began to think again
The two wishes he made had taken care of nearly everything that he needed to worry of so what would the last wish be ?
'Are there any limits on Attainment levels?'
He inquired

He started to think about what he should choose
Starting out with a supreme grandmaster attainment already gave him the 1 of the few things needed to become a venerable, not to mention that being a supreme grandmaster gave a variety of other abilities
'Well the first one has to be refinement path.'
He said knowing what that path entailed and the benefits it could bring
'Can the attainment levels be lowered for more?'
He asked
Having one supreme grandmaster was enough for now, but having several lower levels were also a great help

There was a lot of paths in the Gu world and some that would appear in the future, but what could he choose for the last two wishes? What paths should he choose and what attainments should they have

And then he chose his 32 Quasi Grandmaster Attainments
Various choices were made from the paths that he could remember
The Gu world main paths - Fire, Water, Metal, Etc.
The Main and Sub paths of the venerables that he had not chosen as yet - Qi, Enslavement, Star Etc
A few of the future main paths - Dream, Human, Etc.
He stopped and caught his breath

Opening his eyes in a shaggy-looking shack, He opened the door and stepped out.
Looking into the distance he saw into the distance towards the middle of the village, he heard it too.
"Ancestors, please bless us! We pray that this ceremony will bring many young men of outstanding talent and intelligence, bringing their families new blood and hopes!"
It was the head of the Gu Yue clan performing the ceremony.
Ray's eyes shifted, looking further away up into the sky.
'This is going to be an interesting life from now on.'
