At these words, Summer Thorne's annoyed expression froze. She just stared at him, a bit dazed.
But the daze was only momentary. After blinking, she suddenly laughed and stared at him. "From the sound of it, is Mr. York preparing to come clean?"
Timothy York paused as well, then said slowly, "And what if I said I am?"
If this had been before, Summer Thorne probably would have been very happy to hear that.
But right now, frankly, she didn't have the mental energy to care.
A person can only hold so many things in their heart. Her limited attention had to be allocated according to her priorities. When nothing else was going on, she focused a great deal of it on him, which was why his secrecy and dishonesty bothered her.
But now, with so much weighing on her own mind, she also understood that some things just aren't easy to say out loud.
So, she didn't care as much anymore.
