Timothy York did not answer Summer Thorne's question.
He just held her in silence, his arms tightening uncontrollably. It was as if they had been apart for a very long time. He greedily breathed in her scent, feeling her presence.
Even though it had only been two days.
It felt as though he had lost her long, long ago.
Summer Thorne clearly hadn't expected Timothy York to react this way.
In fact, she had deliberately orchestrated their two-day separation to give them both a chance to breathe, and to give him space to think.
They had shared countless intimate moments. And even though he seemed to have understood everything about her from the start, and she was gradually learning all about him, something still stood between them.
It was something that couldn't be investigated, let alone easily broken.
Because they had already experienced the consequences of digging too deep twice before.
And the consequences of breaking it were impossible to predict.
