It wasn't until much later that Summer Thorne's emotions finally calmed down.
She looked up at Timothy York, who had been holding her silently all this time, and said softly, "Now that we've confirmed they're the same person, you have even less to worry about. I can promise you, based on how well I know her, that this isn't her true nature. It probably won't be long before she finds herself again and truly becomes your sister once more."
Timothy York listened quietly before a slight smile touched his lips. "And back to being your best friend, right?"
"Of course!"
Summer Thorne tilted her face up as she spoke, but the light in her eyes suddenly dimmed. After a moment of silence, she added, "This was all Mr. York's doing, wasn't it? But if he already let her grow up safe and sound until she was seventeen, why would he suddenly stage her death… Was it all just to make her return today, to manipulate and torture you?"
