On the drive back to Kingscrest with Xavier Lockwood, they were silent for almost the entire way. Just as the car stopped at the entrance and Summer Thorne was about to open the door to get out, she suddenly heard Xavier ask, "Why did she say you were going to break up with Timothy York?"
Summer Thorne froze, then slowly replied, "Isn't that what she was hoping for? I was just playing along."
Xavier Lockwood turned his head to look at her. "You wouldn't lie to her, but you'll lie to me, is that it? Summer Thorne, are there still things you can't tell me?"
Summer Thorne fell silent once more.
There were some things, some words, that she had kept locked away in her heart for a very, very long time. Only after seeing Yara Keats did her emotions suddenly spiral out of control, causing her to say them.
