Seeing that Summer Thorne didn't really want to talk about it, Brandon Crawford dropped the subject and started chatting about other things.
After dinner, Summer Thorne sat with Mason Crawford for a while longer. Noticing it was getting late, she finally got up to leave.
When she got back to Kingscrest, she was surprised to find Timothy York in her apartment again.
They had left together earlier that evening. The fact that Timothy York had come straight back here clearly meant that things hadn't gone as smoothly as planned.
"Did you go to the York family's home?" Summer asked.
"Yeah," Timothy York replied flatly, his expression unreadable.
"Did you see her?" Summer asked.
"No."
That one word was enough. Summer asked nothing more. She went into the bathroom, tied up her hair, and washed her hands. When she came out, she found Timothy York still reclining on the sofa, watching her in silence.
Summer met his gaze for a moment. "So, have you eaten tonight?" she asked.
"No."
