James Lynn's Adam's apple bobbed. A surge of anger mixed with frustration rose in his throat, but he forced it back down. He still didn't know the extent of her power.
Annelise Valentine didn't look at him again. Turning to Ethan Adler, her tone softened slightly. "You sit, too."
Ethan Adler glanced at James Lynn, looking a bit lost.
"It's fine. I told you to sit, so sit," Annelise Valentine instructed.
Only then did Ethan Adler walk over to a nearby sofa and sit down primly.
Her gaze fixed on James Lynn's grim face as she got straight to the point.
"Mr. Lynn, my time is limited, so let's not beat around the bush. We need to settle Ethan Adler's contract termination today."
"You and I both know what's going on with all the convoluted clauses in that contract of yours, not to mention the price you've quoted."
"Now, I'm giving you two options."
