After waking up, Annelise Valentine was still listless and lacking energy.
Jett Westgate forbade her from touching anything raw or cold, then went into the kitchen himself.
Before long, a bowl of millet porridge, simmered until thick and soft, and two small plates of lightly sautéed seasonal vegetables with little oil or salt, were placed on the table.
"Eat a little. It's good for your stomach." Jett Westgate handed her a spoon and sat down across from her, the same simple porridge and side dishes in front of him.
She slowly ate half a small bowl of porridge with the light, tasty vegetables, and her stomach finally started to feel a bit better.
Seeing that she was eating without much trouble, Jett Westgate finally relaxed.
"I have to go to the office this afternoon to handle a few things. You stay home and rest. Don't run around. Wait for me to come back."
