Just as the atmosphere between Zane Patterson and Jett Westgate grew tense, someone suddenly walked out of the tent. A familiar voice called out anxiously, "Annelise, have you seen Chloe?"
Annelise Valentine and Zane Patterson turned toward the voice, both stunned.
It was Wyatt Fairchild, Chloe Fairchild's brother.
His hair was a mess, and dark circles ringed his eyes as if he hadn't slept in days. When he saw Annelise Valentine, his eyes lit up for a moment.
He immediately rushed over, his shoulder bumping Jett Westgate and forcing him a step aside, but he didn't even notice.
"Annelise, have you seen Chloe? I wasn't here during the earthquake, and I can't get in touch with her. She should have been with you, right? Where is she?"
Neither Annelise Valentine nor Zane Patterson said a word.
The question made both their hearts sink to the depths once more.
"Say something! Speak!" Wyatt Fairchild took an agitated step forward, nearly bumping into Annelise Valentine.
