Chapter 2 - resolve 1

"Hmmmm…"

Kolden slowly awoke, rubbing his eyes and stretching with a soft yawn while covering his mouth. As his gaze wandered around the room, he realized he was no longer in a dark, space—or, thankfully, in a whale's mouth. Judging by the elegant surroundings and the view outside, Kolden concluded he had been transmigrated into a fantasy world as a noble household.

Looking around, he confirmed his suspicions: this room definitely screamed nobility. The walls were intricately designed with blooming flowers, golden threads weaving through them. Sunlight streamed in through the window, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt like a cheerful welcome to his new life. The light highlighted the decorative bedside table and the vases that adorned the room.

"What a room! The vases are a bit tacky and could use some modern touch, but overall, not bad. I'd rate it a solid 10/10—especially because these bed sheets are sooooo soft!"

Kolden couldn't help but admire the fancy bed. The silk sheets were a lovely light red, pleasing to the eye, and the pillows were just as luxurious. He buried his face in them, cuddling one as a contented sigh escaped his lips. But then, reality hit him hard: his previous life had been anything but good. An overworked salaryman and an orphan, he had no family ties, a job he despised, and at 28, no kids, no wife—nothing.

A fond smile crossed his face as he resolved to change his fate. If this followed the typical fantasy transmigration story, there would be magic involved. While he wasn't guaranteed to excel at it—given how unpredictable some authors could be with their main characters—he refused to entertain the idea of being magic-less or a poorly treated outcast. Either way, he was determined to live a better life and ensure that he would leave behind a legacy worth living for.
