JAY'S POV
As soon as we stepped down from the stage, I instantly regretted it. Because everyone—and I mean everyone—was looking at us with mischievous smiles. Or more specifically... me.
Within seconds, the entire rooftop erupted into loud cheers. I was pretty sure I'd go deaf in a few minutes with the amount of screaming.
"She did it!"
"Our Mutya proposed to him!"
"She confessed, guys! I still can't believe it!"
"Is this real, or am I dreaming? Did she really propose to Keifer?"
"God! I'm hallucinating!"
"They're finally together!"
"Husband and wife agenda is officially canon!"
Everyone was shouting at the top of their lungs. Somehow, I managed to escape the crowd... only for the girls to corner me instead. They all approached me, wearing equally shocked and surprised expressions.
Mica was the first to recover.
"Jay..." she breathed. "I never thought you'd be the one proposing."
Grace nodded immediately.
"Seriously. We all expected Keifer to do it."
I laughed awkwardly.
"Believe me, even I never thought that would happen."
Rakki wrapped me in a quick hug.
"God, Jay Jay! I'm so happy for you. Finally, you two are together."
Freya smiled softly.
"Well... I'm happy for you too."
Yeah... even I was surprised. But after the Sato incident, things between us had improved. I wouldn't exactly call us friends...But we were definitely on good terms now.
"Thanks."
Ella beamed.
"Congratulations, Jay Jay!"
"Thank you."
Well... not with her. Nothing had changed between us. The only reason Ella was even here was because of Aries. Otherwise, there was no way in hell I would've invited her to my Keifer's birthday party. But let's not talk about that.
Peace had never been my friend. Because the moment I escaped the girls, Section E dragged me right back into the chaos.
Aries stepped forward, staring at both of us. Well... I'd already told him and Percy about the proposal beforehand. They had been beyond shocked at first.
But eventually...They had no choice but to accept it.
He stopped right in front of us and locked eyes with Keifer, who simply looked back with his usual bored expression.
God...When would these two go back to being normal friends? Aries finally spoke.
"I still don't trust you. But my sister does. So... I'm approving your relationship. But if you ever hurt her again....I'll kill you with my bare hands."
Keifer simply nodded.
"Noted."
Then Percy stepped forward. For once...He looked completely serious.
"You're my best friend, Keifer."
He glanced at me before looking back at him.
"But Jay is my baby sister. Don't even think about hurting her or making her cry. Otherwise, I won't think twice before putting a gun to your head."
Keifer didn't argue. Didn't smirk. Didn't throw one of his sarcastic comments. He simply replied,
"Sure."
Believe me...I was beyond shocked. This was the first time in my life I'd seen him stay this calm while receiving death threats.
Warmth spread through my chest. Maybe...I really had found the love of my life.
Keifer looked at me. A small smile tugged at his lips, and his eyes were filled with nothing but love.
"I think now that we're officially together...Mrs. Watson."
I immediately glared at him.
"Gago! We're not married."
His grin only widened.
"Yet."
Before I could reply—
Ci-N grabbed the microphone and dramatically cleared his throat, instantly grabbing everyone's attention.
"ATTENTION, EVERYONE!"
He pointed straight at me.
"I WOULD LIKE TO OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE THAT FROM TODAY ON...OUR MUTYA HAS A NEW TITLE!"
Everyone leaned in.
"'MRS. WATSON!'"
Heat immediately rushed to my cheeks. Before I could defend myself, everyone began chanting.
"MRS. WATSON!"
"MRS. WATSON!"
"MRS. WATSON!"
"MRS. WATSON!"
"MRS. WATSON!"
I covered my burning face.
"Shut up, all of you! I'm not married yet!"
Silence.
Complete silence.
For exactly three seconds.
Everyone stared at me with identical mischievous smiles.
...Fuck. I realized my mistake. The entire rooftop exploded again.
"YET!"
"She said 'yet!'"
"She didn't deny it!"
"Wedding preparations!"
"She's already acting like a wife!"
God...Help me.
I turned toward Keifer for help. That asshole? He was laughing. Actually laughing with them. I immediately pinched his arm and whispered in his ear.
"Make them stop. Otherwise, you're not getting any kisses from me for one whole week."
He blinked innocently.
"Why me?"
I narrowed my eyes.
"Are you doing it or not?"
A helpless smile spread across his face.
"Anything for you..Wifey."
Then he turned toward everyone.
"Alright..."
His playful smile disappeared instantly.
"Stop teasing my wife. It won't take much effort for me to kick every single one of you off this rooftop."
Almost instantly...Everyone fell silent. Because knowing Keifer...He might actually do it.
After a while, the party finally ended, and everyone headed home. Keifer and I walked toward his car.
As always, he opened the passenger door for me. But instead of getting in...I gently pushed him toward the passenger seat.
He looked confused.
"Jay Jay... what are you doing?"
"You're not driving. You had drinks."
He frowned.
"I only had a few drinks. I'm not drunk."
I crossed my arms.
"Still no."
Without another word, I walked around the car, opened the driver's door, and sat behind the wheel. The moment I closed it...I noticed him staring at me.
Those eyes...Sometimes I just wanted to drown in them.
"What?" I asked.
He smiled softly.
"I never thought I'd get to see this side of you."
I tilted my head.
"What side?"
He chuckled.
"This one. Throwing me a surprise party. Claiming me in front of everyone. Taking care of me."
I smiled.
"Well...Get used to it. I'm your girlfriend now. You're going to see this version of me a lot more often."
A soft chuckle escaped his lips. He intertwined our fingers before gently pressing a kiss against my hand.
"I love you, Jay...until scientists discover the end of the universe."
I squeezed his hand.
"I love you too."
The rest of the drive passed in comfortable silence. I drove us to his house. After parking in the driveway, I turned off the engine.
For a few moments...Neither of us moved. Then Keifer quietly spoke.
"Jay...Stay here tonight. Please."
I turned toward him.
"Kief—"
Before I could finish, he interrupted.
"I know I'm being selfish. You've already done so much for me tonight." He looked down at our joined hands. "But please...I just want you beside me tonight."
I stared at him. What made him think he was being selfish? He had never asked me for anything. Not once. Tonight was the first time he'd ever requested something from me. How could I possibly refuse?
I smiled.
"Wish granted."
His eyes widened.
"Really?"
I laughed.
"Do I look like I'm joking? It's the first time you've asked me for something, Kief. How could I say no?"
I gently squeezed his hand.
"And besides...As much as you want me beside you...I don't want to be alone tonight either."
His smile grew even wider.
"Let's go."
