Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

But we do stand a chance to fight back; we can get stronger!

One must cultivate their strength to survive the outside world.

Scarface pulled out a rock and crushed it using bare hands.

The kids and other teenagers were amazed.

While Kael was completely dumbfounded how a rock was crushed by bare hands, it was not a regular rock; it was an igneous rock, one of the hardest rocks in the world.

Now Kael has become more curious.

Humans usually have around 50-70 kilograms of grip strength, and crushing this stone requires at least 500 to 600 kilograms of strength.

Leader, how did you do it?

Others are also eager to learn, looking at Scarface with glowing eyes of curiosity.

The reason why I get stronger is because I cultivated it.

There are two ways to get stronger; the first is to fight beasts and kill. It was the fastest but the most dangerous way.

The other is by drinking beast blood and eating meat; unfortunately, we humans can't hunt big beasts. Even we hunters can only bring back small prey or leftovers of big beasts.

And we hunters don't have enough even for ourselves to cultivate, so our strength is lacking.

With a heavy heart, Scarface continues, "We can only forage for wild fruit such as 'mapes' (cycads) for our food supply."

If in the future we can be lucky to have a supply of meat, we will distribute it to everyone, but for now since we are lacking, we can't afford to share.

Scarface really looked troubled; even the other hunting team knew how hard it is to even forage for food.

What more is there to get meat?

Kael bowed to the hunter as a sign of respect and gave thanks to them.

The next day, hunters set out to go outside to forage some wild fruit and to get some mapes (cycads).

At the same time, Kael also grabbed a stone axe that was just lying around. It seems like this axe wasn't already being used by the hunters; they just left it near the cave entrance.

Kael carefully sneaks out so that no one will find out he is going outside.

He was sweating, and the warm breeze welcomed him to the new world he lives in.

The location of the cave is hidden, deep in the middle of the mountain, and it is a bit too stiff for giant reptiles to climb for their safety.

From the entrance of the cave to the foot of the mountain, it seems like around 400-500 meters, half a kilometer.

Walking down is easy, but going up will be challenging, but it was certainly manageable.

At the foot of the mountain it's full of rocks, and something has been noticed by Kael: it was the green. Stones are lying around, as well as the part of the rocks that is colored green.

To Kael's surprise, he squeezed himself as if he were looking at the thing he needed the most.

He furrowed his brows while walking toward the stones; he picked up one and examined it closely.

A bright smile came from Kael with a short celebration; it's a copper; there is a copper.

At the foot of the mountain there's a small river where the water source for drinking in the cave came from.

Some adult males who are at the age but not awakened have the task to collect water; even though the cave is near the source, they are usually the most lethally challenged, getting bitten by snakes, eaten by wild cats, or even small dragons, according to hunters.

Kael carefully walks towards the water source.

And suddenly he noticed a loud thud.

There's a giant beast around two hundred to three hundred meters taller than him, with scaly green skin texture like a reptile but with a giant body five times bigger than an elephant's and a neck that almost reaches the skies and a tail that is as long as the trees.

Kael muttered it's a "sauropod."

The size of this sauropod is bigger than the Brontosaurus skeleton he saw in the museum, around sixty to seventy meters long and around five to six meters wide in diameter.

With its long neck, it towers even over the highest trees; it easily eats the tree, leaving only the trunk. Even branches are like a snack for this behemoth.

If a paleontologist saw this magnificent beast, they would surely fall to the ground in shock; this sauropod is almost twice as big as the Brontosaurus.

Brontosaurus lives in groups of around twenty, and there's some young sauropod who's already bigger than a human, looking like those just hatched from the egg since.

Besides those sauropods, there's a smaller dinosaur as well that looks like a mini version of those giant long-neck dinosaurs; it's a Mussaurus (it's a species of herbivore sauropod that lived in the late Triassic in Argentina).

Each mussaurus is around ten 3 meters long and five meters wide, seeming like around the size of an elk but longer. The color of its scales is also green, but with a trace of a bluish tint on its head pattern.

The pack of this mosasaur is consistent, around a hundred on the other side of the river.

Also drinking water from the river and eating the weeds and grasses.

Suddenly, a menacing sound came from the bushes and trees.

A sound shivered into Kael's back; it was a sound that his body knew what it was like to fear; it was engraved on his DNA to fear this sound.

The sound was like a loud motorcycle engine or a grass cutter.

Dang, dang, dang...

Followed by a quick thud.

A feathered monster emerged from the shadows, around 4 meters in height and 12 meters in length. It was a beast with black and red feathers, standing like a chicken. In just a second, a mussaurus had been bitten into the neck, and using its big legs, it pinned the struggling mussaurus to the ground.

The other Sauropods flee in fear.
