"So, how am I going to survive with no food?"
Tyler sat on the deck that was destroyed yesterday. He had barely managed to patch it up with some planks that he had brought with him.
Although the original Tyler was an impulsive guy, he did bring necessary things like food, water, and planks.
Unfortunately, except for water, he had nothing left.
Planks were used to keep the boat float while food was eaten by him this morning, meaning he had to find an island soon.
"Thankfully! He bought this before leaving his island."
He took out the map of the West Blue and placed it in front of him. Opening the map, he saw several parts of the map blurred and wet.
It was a good thing that the paper was sturdy; the entire map would've been damaged.
He pointed at a certain island hovering around more islands, like an archipelago.
"Although it's a bit blurry, this is definitely Gozu. That means, I am somewhere between Gozu and these clusters of islands."
"So, I need to find a way to any one of these islands. Considering he was leaving towards this eastern direction, I need to return to the west."
He read the name on the map.
"So, these islands surround this large kingdom called Ballywood Kingdom. One of the Marine Branches is nearby that island."
"More importantly, there are two other kingdoms next to this one. But there is also a Toroa Island in the east."
"If I can reach that island within two days, I can evade the marines while also making my way to the Grandline."
Thinking about it, he decided to head east.
After all, his goal was to find his way to the grandline. While going back wouldn't be a problem, he didn't like the idea of going back.
Especially since he had already crossed a massive storm for this journey.
"So, I can only look for Toroa Island to buy supplies for my journey. But during this journey, I have to try to catch as many fish as possible."
Tyler understood his situation very well.
Having watched anime, manga, and now live action, he knew how dangerous this world was.
Just because he didn't want to return didn't mean he was foolish enough to put his life on the line without any preparation.
He needed to control his Devil Fruit while also improving his strength.
One of the most basic ways of gaining strength was through exercise.
While in the real world, it would be impossible to be superhuman with exercises. That wasn't the case here.
Just by doing push-ups and sit-ups, one could truly gain the strength to punch through walls and jump higher than buildings.
But exercise consumed stamina, which could only be refilled with nutrients.
So, if he wanted to get stronger, if he wanted to train, he needed food. Without food, he couldn't do anything in this sea.
His best hope was to use the power of his Devil Fruit to raise the sea water and pull out big fish.
He couldn't control the seawater directly, but he could use the power of wind to raise the water in the form of a sea tornado.
As long as he could control the power of the tornado, he didn't need to worry about food.
"But just to be safe, I will try it further away from the ship."
He looked towards the furthest distance and concentrated all of his mind on it.
Devil Fruit gave powers in different forms. Zoan gave the power of transformation into creatures.
But Mythical Zoan gave extraordinary power on top of the transformation. These extraordinary powers were in control of a certain thing.
In the case of his fruit, it was control over wind, lightning, and water. He didn't need to transform into his full zoan form just to use these powers.
Just like how he didn't need to use the hybrid form to punch through walls. In just his base form, he had inherited some of the power of this fruit.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have the guts to leave the island so quickly. The moment he found he could punch through walls in his base form, he left.
But he could do more than that. He could control lightning, wind, and even normal water in this form.
If he transformed into his full dragon form, he could even make storms and rain. Unfortunately, Tyler wasn't sure if he could do that right now.
Since controlling the ability required stamina, he was physically weak. Even with the strength granted by his fruit, it wasn't enough.
After all, he ate Mythical Zoan, and the most he could do was punch through walls.
Just thinking about it was embarrassing. That's also why he wanted to catch fish and immediately start his training.
While his boat ran on sails, he could train most of the time, only requiring control of the boat if it ran off course.
But it wasn't so easy to use this power. Looking at a long distance and trying to reach as far as with his wind, he was making it harder for himself.
On his first try, he miserably failed, unable to generate any kind of wind that far away.
So, he decreased the distance and kept using his power. After several trials and errors, he realized that he could only use wind power in proximity.
Otherwise, it would simply disappear.
Unless he were to use his full zoan transformation or hybrid transformation, he couldn't generate powerful wind further away.
But ten meters was quite small. He was worried that the sea tornado would overturn his ship.
That would be absolutely horrible.
Considering he couldn't control seawater and could only rely on wind to stir up seawater, he had no choice but to use his hybrid form.
As soon as he entered his hybrid form, something similar to yesterday happened, except there was no cloud around his body.
As soon as he entered this mode, his control over wind, water, and lightning increased significantly.
Without much hesitation, he started launching the wind on the sea, far away from his boat.
The sea started stirring into a large vortex before a massive tornado of seawater rose.
With his keen beast-like senses, Tyler smelled several fish in the tornado. He quickly used the wind to pull those fish.
But he realized that he didn't have enough control over the wind, especially when it was already spinning sea water.
So, he could only pull the tornado closer to his boat and slowly decrease the power of the wind.
As the wind's power decreased, the tornado started moving more slowly until it no longer had the power to control any sea water.
Before all of it fell, Tyler used the best of his ability to control a large portion of the fish in that seawater using wind and pull it directly towards him.
Splash!
Although he succeeded, he also got blasted by several hundred kilograms of water, almost breaking the front of his boat.
His transformation also got disturbed due to seawater, forcing him to his human form.
He only suffered some back injuries this time and managed to heal pretty quickly due to the influence of his Devil Fruit.
Looking at several dozen fish lying on his boat, Tyler couldn't help but smile.
This was his action in this world, the first display of power. While it took nearly an hour to get it right, he managed to use it.
This was more than anything the original Tyler had achieved.
Thinking about it, he couldn't help but giggle before he started gathering those fish. After he descaled them and cleaned their insides, he started cooking them.
There was a small stove. It was also soaked in the previous storm, but Tyler managed to make it work.
It didn't have a lot of gas, only enough for a week's worth of meals. He had only brought a few seasonings and a bottle of oil, with some rice and flour.
But the flour was already unusable. While rice was also wet, it was still usable. So, he could only make all of that rice and these fish.
It took him the entire day to cook all of those fish and rice. After cooking them, he carefully stored most of them in a separate container before eating tonight's dinner.
After his dinner, he didn't go to sleep immediately. It was still evening, so he started training.
This was probably the best time to train since he had furled the sails and dropped the anchor.
So, while his boat was staying in the water, he kept exercising. During this night, he understood the difficulty of being a pirate.
He not only had to exercise but also keep an eye on the boat. After all, it was possible for other pirate crews to attack him during the night.
But, considering the size of his boat, he was still able to sleep in peace.
