The laptop screen flickered in Shira's bored eyes as he scrolled through his tabs. He let out a long sigh and stretched his back on his chair.
"Man, waiting for Re:Zero Season 4 is a pain," he muttered. "I really want to see that 'Aura Monster' walking up the stairs."
Above him, the light bulb started to flicker and flashed like flash bomb. Shira closed his eyes lids tight, annoyed. "What is wrong with my light? I feel like that 'ash baby' meme people use in the Insta comments."
When he opened his eyes, he wasn't in his room anymore. He was sitting on a brick wall next to a canal. The buildings of mediaeval style. He rubbed his eyes hard. "Okay... I don't remember taking any drugs to see this. What's going on?

He stood up and saw people and demi-humans with animal ears and scales—walking past. They glanced at him while walking cause of his outfit which was just a t-shirt and sweatpants which was comfy for Shira but foreign for other people
Shira got excited. "Wait, demi-humans? Am I in Re:Zero? But it can be any other world too , Let's check."
He walked up to a lizard-man who was just walking and asked him with a smile. "Sir, sorry to bother you, but what do you think about Lugunica? Isn't it a pretty country?"
The demi-human scratched his head and smiled awkwardly. "A bit random, but yeah. I love this country. It's beautiful if you ignore the nobles and the old fuckers running it."
Shira smiled while thanking him and walked away and thought So it is Lugunica. I'm really here. But is this canon timeline? Was he here before Subaru or after? Or a better question would Subaru even show up? Or was he the yandere witch's lover ?
He saw the legendary Appa guy at his shop and quickly approached him to get some information. "Sir, I'm writing a book and asking people questions. Can you help me?"
The appa guy looked at Shira's strange clothes and sighed, cause was in a good mood since he sold many appas earlier. "Sure, go ahead, kid."
Shira smiled and asked "Do you have a family? Like a wife and kids?"
"Yes," the man nodded. "A wife and a little daughter."
The timeline seems the same as the anime, Shira thought. "That's great. Next question: what do you know about the Royal Candidates?"
"I don't know much," the man said. "Only that there are four candidates so far."
Shira asked the last one. "Have you ever heard someone say the word 'apple' before?"
The man looked confused. "Huh? Apple? What the hell does that mean? These are appas."
Shira just smiled. "Nothing. Thanks for the help, sir. Have a great day!"
As he walked away leaving the appa guy cursing shira for not buying even a single appa and just waste his time, Shira thought, Felt hasn't been found yet, and he doesn't know the word 'apple.' That means Subaru hasn't arrived. I'm ahead of the story. Then he wondered, Is this a gender-bend world? I read the great sage fanfiction where Reinhard was a girl. I hope that's true here. But i wish the author of that novel could have uploaded more r18 chapter before i came here , let's just forget it .
He shook his head. Anyway, do I have any powers?
He found himself near a dark alley and thought How did I find this place so easily? Is it fate of every reincarnated mc in fanfiction ?
He sighed and just went inside and heard footsteps. He already knew the owner of this sound but still He turned to see three thieves: a dwarf, a lizard-face, and a big wanna be bulking guy.
Shira just thought a bit tried to test if he had authority. He kicked a stone lightly toward them,but it just rolled a little. And thought so no authority of greed , He than bit his tongue and tried to share his pain with them but. Nothing happened.
He thought with sigh No authority ? And there are many time or divine protections i can't just test what I have ? Am I just a side character here?
"Hand over everything you have!" the big thief shouted. [ I don't remember which thief said that but let's take big one ]
Shira sighed. "Bro, I'm just as poor as you. I just have clean clothes." But they didn't cared and short one said " than get naked here , we can take something else "
Shira Then he took a deep breath and yelled, "REINHARD! SWORD SAINT! HELP ME!"
Shira thought I don't care if I sound cringe , my first priority is saving my ass , literally saving my ass.
The three thieves got scared and looked around to find nothing and smirked and the lizard one kicked his lips, " no one to save you here , handsome boy "
Than A red-haired man with a sword came towards the entrance. "What's going on here?"
The thieves looked back to find sword saint standing ran away instantly to save their asses.
[A/N:- just a thought, can reinhard have divine protection of reviving someone if he wished for it ?]
Shira felt relieved. "Thank you, Sir Reinhard."
Reinhard smiled. "No problem, sir. It's my job."
Shira looked at him. So he's a guy. No female Reinhard here, I guess.
Shira said, "Sir Reinhard, those thieves were talking about robbing houses in the slums tonight. Maybe you should go there to catch them red handed."
Reinhard nodded. "Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that." He then walked away.
Shira started walking toward the slums while thinking. I need to get to the loot house. I'm assuming it's the canon timeline. But if it's not I should also think of it.
By evening, Shira was standing in front of Old Man Rom's house. He knocked.
"Password?" a voice growled.
"Six, seven," Shira said. Man, I ruined the cool entry i could have tried .
Rom opened the door annoyed ."Who are you?"
"Business talk," Shira said. He walked in and sat down on a chair at counter. And looked at annoyed Rom "Chill, old man. I want to buy something. Felt might be bringing it today." Rom looked at him thinking he was suspicious but let him stay while keeping his eyes in him.
Soon, the door opened and Felt came in. "Old man Rom, who is this guy?"

Soon after , there was another knock. A white-haired girl with long ears walked in. "Hello? Is someone here? " Her eyes caught a yellow haired short girl "You! You stole my insignia! Give it back!"
Felt turned to Rom, but he just raised his hands like I'm Outta this shit , handle it yourself.
Shira's heart raced. As he thought Any second now... NOW,
Suddenly, he rushed forward and pushed the girl out of the way, falling to the floor with her to avoid a fast slash.
A woman's voice came from the shadows. "Oh, you saw that? Very interesting."
Shira stood up and saw Elsa holding two sharp blades with unique style like in anime.
Shira thought damn the milkers are too big than in anime, maybe i should just turn into pride route.
He felt a sting on his arm and saw blood. Shit, I still got cut.
He thought Now I just have to survive until Reinhard gets here.
Puck manifested near Emeila and Rom took his big bat like thing and Felt took out her knife too.
