Chapter 11 - CH-11(THE TREAT)

Steven and Bill were already seated in the interview room when the candidate entered.

The moment she stepped inside, Steven recognized her immediately.

The same girl from last night…

However, he showed no reaction. His expression remained calm as if he had never seen her before.

The interview began.

The girl introduced herself confidently.

"My name is Amili."

She carried herself with confidence, answering every question smoothly and with a certain charm in her tone. She clearly knew how to present herself well.

Despite that, neither Steven nor Bill showed much reaction.

After a few more formal questions, the interview came to an end.

Steven exchanged a glance with Bill before speaking,

"You're selected. Welcome to the company. Make sure you work sincerely."

Amili smiled.

"Thank you, sir."

Inside, however, she was thinking something completely different.

So they're already impressed… that was easier than I thought.

She stepped a little closer and spoke politely,

"Excuse me, Mr. Steven, Mr. Bill… I wanted to ask for a small favor."

Steven looked at her.

"What kind of favor?"

Amili replied with a soft smile,

"Since you both accepted me into the company today, I would like to treat you to a small dinner… at The Leaf Petal Hotel."

Bill was slightly surprised.

"That's one of the most expensive hotels in Floris. You just got this job—are you sure you can afford it? There's no need for any treat."

Before Amili could reply, Steven spoke calmly,

"Bill, it's her first invitation. We shouldn't refuse. That would be rude."

Amili felt satisfied hearing that.

Hooked already…

Bill hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Alright."

That night…

Steven and Bill arrived at The Leaf Petal Hotel.

Amili welcomed them at the entrance and guided them to a VIP table.

Soon, the waiter arrived, and Amili confidently ordered some of the hotel's best dishes and wine.

Within minutes, everything was served.

They started eating.

Bill kept a slight distance, quietly observing.

Steven, on the other hand, acted far more relaxed, chatting casually with Amili.

Seeing this, Bill frowned slightly.

"Steven, you should behave properly," he said in a low voice.

Steven waved him off.

"Relax. Just enjoy the food."

Amili watched the situation carefully.

Perfect… they're already starting to disagree.

She tried to keep the mood light.

"Please don't argue because of me. You're friends, after all."

Bill replied calmly,

"Let's keep things professional, Miss Amili. That would be better."

His tone was polite—but firm.

Amili forced a smile, but inside, she was getting frustrated.

Why isn't he reacting at all…?

Still, she continued playing along.

After some time, Steven acted as if he had drunk too much and leaned back in his chair, pretending to lose awareness.

Seeing this, Bill stood up.

"I think we should leave now."

Amili panicked slightly.

"No, no, please stay. Mr. Steven is just tired—he'll be fine in a while."

But Bill shook his head.

"No. It's better if we leave."

He helped Steven stand up.

"Thank you for the dinner, Miss Amili. You can join the company from tomorrow."

With that, Bill carried Steven out.

Amili was left standing there.

A moment later, the waiter arrived with the bill.

She glanced at it—

Her expression froze.

"$5000…?"

Her eyes widened in shock.

Steven… Bill… I'll make sure you pay for this…

Grinding her teeth, she paid the bill and left.

Meanwhile…

Outside the hotel—

The moment they were inside the car, Steven opened his eyes.

Completely conscious.

Bill looked at him… and both of them burst out laughing.

"She thought she was playing us," Bill said.

Steven smirked.

"Let her believe that. We'll follow the plan."

They exchanged a knowing look.

"We'll turn her own game against her… until she has no choice but to leave."

With that, both of them leaned back, satisfied.

The real game had just begun.
