"Bombs?"
Connors stretched out his claws and pinched the two small, exquisitely made pumpkin bombs between them, his steps coming to a halt.
"Kahahaha!"
"Stupid doctor! You actually dared to catch my pumpkin bombs with your hand?"
In midair, the Green Goblin's kid looked at Connors's dumbfounded reaction and laughed so hard he nearly doubled over. His grating laughter made quite a few people cover their ears in disgust.
He clenched one hand into a fist, his eyes fixed on the bombs in the Lizard Doctor's hand.
Then his palm opened, and he made a "bang" sound with his mouth.
The ticking countdown grew sharper and sharper. The small pumpkin bombs detonated with a roar.
However, Connors's eyes and hands were quick. One second before the bombs exploded, his claws closed, firmly trapping both bombs in his palm.
Boom!
The power of the pumpkin bombs was naturally not to be underestimated. After a muffled explosion, high temperature and high pressure mixed together, and the specially made shells shattered under the tremendous impact, forming deadly shrapnel.
"Hahaha! You're finished!"
"Stupid doctor! Stupid doctor!"
Seeing this, the Green Goblin's kid slapped his thigh in midair and laughed wildly.
"That hurt a little."
Connors bared his teeth and loosened his claws.
Countless smoking fragments clattered to the floor, and the Green Goblin's kid's arrogant laughter stopped abruptly.
Connors flexed his long, sharp claws. The rough, thick black skin on his palm had taken the pumpkin bombs' close-range blast, and several charred wounds had been torn across the surface.
But visibly, the skin and muscle on both sides of the wounds had already begun writhing. In only a moment, they had healed completely. Not a single drop of blood had fallen in the process, making it impossible to tell that he had just been injured.
"Kid, as your teacher, maybe it's time I properly taught you some respect."
A savage smile appeared on Connors's dark face. His legs bent, and his burly body leaped high into the air, pouncing viciously toward the Green Goblin's kid, who was flying on his glider.
The two went back and forth, wrecking the spacious laboratory without restraint as all kinds of weapons appeared one after another.
Relying on his agility, the Green Goblin's kid held a sharp blade in one hand and occasionally threw pumpkin bombs at Connors.
But although Connors was enormous, he did not look clumsy in the slightest. His movements and attacks were incomparably agile.
His two thick tails whipped through the air with terrifying force. His movements were almost exactly like Fenris's, and when his tails lashed through the air, they produced piercing sonic booms. Just hearing the sound was enough to make one's scalp go numb.
The Green Goblin's kid dodged left and right, but he still quickly fell into a disadvantage.
"Connors, these ordinary people are innocent. If you accidentally hurt them, can your conscience handle it?"
"You locked the doors and windows and trapped them here. Why are you pretending to be the good guy now?"
"Watch the tail whip!"
The two fought with wide, sweeping movements. In the blink of an eye, they had completely overturned the already chaotic laboratory. For a time, the crowd Tony had barely managed to calm fell into panic again.
None of these people could have imagined that they had only come to watch a scientific experiment, yet somehow ended up caught in a fight between nonhumans.
A famous biologist had transformed in public into an ugly giant lizard and started fighting a green-armored monster who looked like trouble at first glance.
Their superhuman movements were incredibly fast, and for a moment, the crowd was dazzled just watching them.
Fortunately, Connors deliberately avoided the crowd during the battle, while the Green Goblin's kid only wanted to teach him a lesson. That was the only reason those ordinary people with no combat ability were not dragged into it.
On the other side, Otto's consciousness had been completely devoured by the artificial intelligence inside his own mechanical tentacles. At this moment, his mind was filled only with his unfinished experiment.
"My experiment has no problems. No one can stop it!"
Seeing Peter about to pull out the device's power supply, Doctor Octopus waved the tentacles behind him like a madman.
The mechanical tentacles moved extremely quickly, but in Peter's eyes, they were not that fast. He easily dodged the stabbing attacks one by one.
"Doctor, stop!"
"We need to talk!"
Looking at the artificial sun, which was growing larger and larger, Peter anxiously shouted at Otto, trying to convince him to stop attacking. But when he fought back, he was clearly holding himself back and did not dare use his full strength, afraid of hurting his teacher.
But how could Doctor Octopus, who had already lost his reason, listen to Peter?
Just as the situation fell into a stalemate, Tony saw his chance while Doctor Octopus's attention was fully fixed on Spider-Man. Raising both arm shields, he slammed into Otto from the rear side.
Thud!
The vibranium shield struck the back of Otto's head with a pleasant ring. Doctor Octopus's entire body suddenly stiffened. After his eyes rolled back, he fell straight to the ground.
The four tentacles behind him also crashed to the floor one after another, instantly going still.
"Kid, you're a little too kind."
After taking down the enemy in one blow, Tony finally let out a breath of relief.
He stepped forward and patted Peter on the shoulder. "Even if he's your teacher, you can't go soft when it's time to act."
"You know who I am?"
Peter was startled. He abruptly jumped backward and touched his mask.
It was clearly still on his face.
"Just pretend I don't."
Tony shrugged. "Come help me cut the power. If we wait any longer, this fusion reaction won't be stoppable at all."
"You want to save people? Did you ask me first?"
Just as Peter saw that Tony had no ill intent toward him and was about to hurry forward to help, the Green Goblin's kid's piercing scream suddenly came closer from afar.
In the blink of an eye, he swept over their heads on his glider.
"Here. Have a pumpkin bomb."
As he flew over the magnetic confinement device, his eyes shifted. He casually pulled out a pumpkin bomb and threw it toward the surface of the artificial sun.
"Enjoy my gift!"
"Kekekekeke!"
"Big guy, I'm not playing with you today. Just wait. I'll come settle the score with you later!"
Before his voice had even faded, the glider ran at full power, carrying him out of the laboratory in a swift escape.
"No!"
On the ground, Tony and Peter had already pulled out three of the five power cables. Seeing the light of the artificial sun inside the device begin to dim, neither of them had expected the Green Goblin's kid to suddenly pull such a move.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment. Peter suddenly shot out a web, trying to stick it to the pumpkin bomb.
However, the moment his web approached the artificial sun, it was easily melted by the high temperature.
The opportunity vanished in an instant. The pumpkin bomb lightly fell onto the surface of the artificial sun.
The next moment.
Boom!
A tremendous explosion came from within. The artificial sun, which had lost its power supply and had already begun showing signs of going out, suddenly started expanding wildly as if it had been reignited.
"It's over!"
