Chapter 151 - 151

The artificial sun expanded even faster than it had the previous times, several times faster. In the blink of an eye, it had broken free of the magnetic containment device with effortless ease.

The powerful magnetic field seemed so fragile now. Once the artificial sun burst past the controllable threshold, boundless light and heat began pouring wildly through the laboratory.

In an instant, the temperature inside the entire lab skyrocketed. Not far away, the monitors and control consoles used for the experiment began to warp under the blistering heat, crackling and popping as they broke apart.

The people farther away were in even worse shape. This string of disasters had left their lives hanging by a thread once again.

They surged toward the heavy doors and windows in a panic, but ordinary human strength was useless against such massive doors.

"It's past the critical point. That artificial sun has completely turned into a miniature sun."

Peter stared at the little sun growing brighter and brighter, his heart leaping into his throat.

After studying under Doctor Otto for so long, he knew exactly what this meant.

"It doesn't need any external power anymore. It'll keep absorbing everything around it on its own, then keep getting bigger..."

Peter swallowed. Even the dark lenses on his mask could not block the piercing glare coming from the miniature sun.

Since becoming Spider-Man, he had never faced a crisis this terrifying.

This miniature sun would keep expanding without limit, then at some point in the future, it would suddenly lose its balance and explode.

All the energy inside it would be released without restraint. When that happened, the terrifying blast would start in New York and threaten the lives of hundreds of millions of innocent people.

The thought of one city, maybe even several cities, being razed to the ground by this thing, with countless ordinary people dragged into disaster for no reason, made Peter's entire body tremble beyond his control.

"My experiment... succeeded!"

Not far away, Doctor Octopus finally woke up.

His head was still spinning, but the moment he saw the light shining from his masterpiece, he felt that everything had been worth it.

"Otto, you're insane!"

Connors planted one clawed foot on Doctor Octopus's back, but even that could not stop the madness in his eyes.

"What do we do?"

The miniature sun was growing larger and larger. Its diameter was already close to ten meters.

Peter had completely lost his nerve. In his panic, he had no idea what to do next.

"What are you panicking for? The sky isn't falling."

"It's just a little sun. It's not the real sun."

A gentle male voice drifted down from above. It seemed to carry a power that soothed the heart, and Peter's chaotic thoughts suddenly settled.

The next moment, amid a shrill scream, a figure in ugly green armor crashed hard to the ground beside them.

A huge flying glider had already split into two pieces. It clattered to the floor not far away.

"Let go of me! I don't accept this!"

Covered in dust, the young Green Goblin staggered up from the ground and glared furiously into the air.

Just now, he had been about to break through the window and get away from this place, but when he happened to look down, he saw Gwen and Otto's wife, Rosie, hiding in a safe corner of the lab, watching the battle with worry in their eyes.

A man about his own age, though with a far more striking presence, was quietly staring at the ever-expanding miniature sun.

For reasons he could not explain, the sight of that not particularly muscular young man suddenly stirred vicious courage in the young Green Goblin. As if possessed, he pulled out a pumpkin bomb and threw it down at him from the air.

But the instant he made his move, he saw that young man raise his head and meet his gaze through the mask with perfect timing.

In that dazed instant, the young Green Goblin thought he saw the man smile at him.

The pumpkin bomb had only just left his hand when his mind went blank. A dense burst of pain exploded across his body, and then he was tossed beside Peter like a piece of trash.

His physical abilities, far beyond those of an ordinary person, had not even let him see how the other man attacked. Instead, because his body was tough enough to endure punishment, he took several more punches.

His flying glider had not escaped either. Like a toy, it had been snapped cleanly in two and thrown to the ground.

"Harry!"

Peter rushed forward and pulled the terrifying mask off his best friend's face.

Harry had none of his usual gentleness now. His expression was nothing but savagery and endless resentment, a world apart from the bright, cheerful person he had once been.

"Harry is dead! The one alive now is the reborn Green Goblin!"

Harry bared his teeth and roared at Peter.

"No..."

Peter yanked off his own mask and looked at Harry in pain, his eyes wet. "Harry, this isn't you..."

Thump!

Before Harry could speak again, Fenris had already dropped from the sky and flicked him hard on the forehead.

Harry's head tilted to the side from the sudden blow, and he passed out on the spot.

"Minor issue. We'll have Jean take a look at him later."

Fenris's attention was already fixed on the enormous miniature sun.

He waved at Tony. "You guys evacuate the crowd. Connors, go help everyone smash the doors open."

"Yes."

Connors did not hesitate at all. He turned and strode toward the entrance.

Under everyone's terrified gaze, he bared his teeth in a grin, clenched his jaw, and exerted a little force. The heavy alloy door was forcibly ripped open.

"Go."

With Tony and the others constantly evacuating and urging them on, the already terrified civilians did not dare hesitate in the slightest. They rushed outside one after another.

Only a few people remained after a short while.

"Fenris, are you planning to exile it into space, or throw it into the ocean?"

The heat released by the miniature sun was growing higher and higher, forcing Tony to keep retreating. He looked at Fenris's back and asked almost instinctively.

After all, the reaction had already reached this point. Compared to when it had only been the size of a basketball, its energy level had increased by an unknown number of times.

No matter how big Fenris's appetite was, there was no way he could absorb and digest the energy inside it now. The best solution at this point was to exile it through a dimensional portal.

"No."

Tony heard an excitement and delight in Fenris's voice that was hard to conceal.

"I'm going to exile it into my stomach."

"Raaaar!"

Before anyone could react, a high, resounding roar rang out, and Fenris's body rapidly swelled.

In the blink of an eye, a massive beast with purple-black skin and faint blue light shimmering all across its body appeared before everyone out of thin air.

When it stood upright, it nearly reached the laboratory ceiling.

Looking at the tempting giant fireball in front of him, Fenris felt his entire body trembling faintly with excitement.

After his tail lashed happily behind him, Fenris did not hesitate at all. He leaped forward, and his enormous body sank entirely into the miniature sun.
