Chapter 1 - Beman Bidhata, part-3

Beiman Bidhata – Part 3

The night felt unusually heavy for Parikshit. The faint glow of a streetlight slipped through his broken window, drawing long shadows across the cracked walls of his small room. Sleep refused to come. His mind kept replaying every failure, every rejection, every silent insult life had thrown at him.

He sat up slowly, staring at his own hands—hands that once held dreams of becoming something big, something meaningful. A science graduate, full of hope and ambition. But now? Just another forgotten name in the crowd.

"Why me?" he whispered into the silence.

Days passed, each one more exhausting than the last. Parikshit continued searching for jobs, walking miles under the scorching sun, submitting applications that seemed to disappear into a void. Interviews came, but rejections followed like shadows.

One afternoon, while returning home defeated, he noticed an old man struggling to push a cart loaded with vegetables. People passed by without a glance. For a moment, Parikshit hesitated—but something inside him moved.

He stepped forward and helped the man push the cart uphill.

The old man smiled warmly, "Thank you, beta. Not many stop these days."

Parikshit gave a tired smile, "It's okay, uncle. I had time anyway."

The old man looked at him carefully, as if reading the pain hidden behind his eyes. "You look troubled. Life isn't going your way?"

Parikshit let out a soft laugh. "That's an understatement."

The man nodded slowly. "Remember one thing—life tests those who can endure. Maybe your time hasn't come yet."

Those words stayed with him.

That evening, sitting alone, Parikshit thought deeply. Maybe he had been waiting too much—for luck, for fate, for "Bidhata" to change things. But what if change had to start with him?

The next morning, something was different.

Instead of heading out aimlessly, he made a plan. He gathered his old books, revised concepts, and started learning new skills online using his phone. Internet packs were expensive for him, but he chose to invest in himself instead of losing hope.

Days turned into weeks.

Slowly, Parikshit started tutoring a few neighborhood students. It wasn't much money, but it was honest, and more importantly—it gave him confidence. For the first time in months, he felt useful.

One evening, a student's father approached him. "You teach well. My friend runs a small coaching center. They need someone like you. Interested?"

Parikshit's heart skipped a beat. "Yes… yes, I am."

The opportunity wasn't huge, but it was a start.

At the coaching center, Parikshit worked hard. He gave his best to every student, remembering his own struggles. His sincerity didn't go unnoticed. Students began to respect him, parents appreciated him.

Months passed.

Life wasn't perfect—but it was moving.

One day, while returning home, Parikshit paused under the same streetlight that once witnessed his darkest thoughts. He looked up at the sky, a faint smile forming on his lips.

"Maybe… Bidhata isn't entirely heartless," he murmured.

He realized something important—life may betray, fate may test, but giving up only makes the betrayal complete.

The journey was far from over. Challenges would come again. But now, Parikshit wasn't the same broken person anymore.

He had learned to fight back.

And somewhere deep inside, a new belief was born—

Even if fate is unfair, courage can rewrite the story.

Author Thought (Parikshit Halder – 15 words):

Life may break you many times, but standing again is the real victory always.
