Chapter 29 - disappointment and anger

Dust from the wreckage still drifted slowly through the underground laboratory air.

The silence left behind by the battle felt suffocating.

No Name turned around.

He stared intently at his four Pions, who were still seated on the floor in battered condition.

His gaze was flat. There was no disappointment, yet there was no praise either.

Without saying a single word, the Nameless Devil walked away, allowing his black robe to be swallowed by the darkness of the corridor.

The moment their boss was gone, Tora slammed his fist into the already-cracked concrete floor.

BRAK!

His teeth ground together in restrained fury.

Tora lowered his head deeply, hiding his face behind the blindfold.

He was furious, not at the enemy... but at himself.

Before a true opponent, he had been nothing more than dead weight who could not land even a single blow.

Scyte, who usually had a thousand jokes ready to lighten any mood, could only bite his lower lip this time.

He wanted to say something to ease the tension, but the words died in his throat.

He knew he was just as weak.

The speed and cutting power he took pride in meant nothing before that alien technology.

In another corner, Rare sat in silence.

His giant sword Excalibur lay beside him.

Rare stared at his own palms, stained with dust and blood, reflecting on how helpless he had been when gravity had locked his body in place.

Only Arrow managed to keep his composure.

The archer from the village let out a long breath, then walked toward his companions one by one.

He extended his hand, helping Tora, Rare, and Scyte back to their feet.

But Tora's frustration had already peaked.

Without a word of thanks or acknowledgment, he turned away and staggered out of the room, dragging his axe behind him with heavy steps.

Seeing Tora leave under such a dark aura, Scyte could not stay still.

He wiped the blood from his cheek, picked up his iron scythe, and quietly jogged after him.

Leaving Arrow and Rare behind to clean up the remains of the chaos.

Meanwhile, on the ground floor of headquarters...

No Name's footsteps echoed through the grand main hall.

He stopped and frowned in irritation at the sight before him.

The marble floor, once spotless and gleaming, was now littered with the corpses of bionic guards and company security staff slaughtered by The Axiom during their forced entry.

Blood and machine oil were splattered everywhere, staining the place he had built from nothing with his own hands.

Disgust spread through his chest.

No Name hated having his place dirtied.

He raised one hand.

At once, Pure Darkness flowed from his fingertips, spreading like a black tide crawling across the floor.

The shadows consumed every corpse, every pool of blood, and every broken shard of metal without leaving a trace.

Within seconds, the main hall became empty, clean, and shining once more, as though no massacre had ever taken place.

Every sign of chaos had been erased by absolute void.

No Name slowly clenched his fist.

His eyes glowed dimly as he stared at the main entrance of his company.

"I swear..." No Name growled in a low voice filled with menace,

"...I will never allow anyone to step foot in this place again."
