Chapter 42 - mission complete

In the southern sector of the station, right in front of the mainframe tower, the battle was eerily quiet.

There were no explosions, no heavy impacts.

Only a high-frequency hum that made the air ripple like water.

Sirius, The Axiom's female executive with advanced optical modifications, clenched her teeth in frustration.

Again and again, she fired invisible ultrasonic blades toward the server, trying to stop the data download.

But Arrow didn't move an inch from his position ten meters away.

The neatly groomed young man simply drew his bow calmly and released small energy arrows.

Trisss! Jzzzt!

Each arrow collided perfectly with Sirius' sound waves midair, neutralizing them into nothing but harmless currents of air.

Arrow barely even looked at her his eyes were more focused on the holographic screen displaying the download progress: 85%.

"Don't underestimate me, you little rat!" Sirius screamed, her eyes glowing blue.

She changed tactics.

Bringing both hands together, Sirius formed a dome of ultra-high-frequency vibrations around her body.

The vibrations were so intense that the floor beneath her feet disintegrated into dust.

With this absolute defense, any ordinary energy arrow would be reduced to particles before even touching her.

Protected within the dome, Sirius gathered all her energy into a massive ultrasonic sphere powerful enough to wipe out the entire sector.

Arrow glanced at the screen again. 92%.

"Not a bad frequency dome," Arrow commented calmly, his expression unchanged.

"But sound needs a medium to travel, Miss. And you… have left far too many gaps."

He pulled three arrows from his quiver at once.

Unlike before, these were physical arrows made of black titanium with split tips.

Sirius laughed mockingly from inside her dome. "Scrap metal arrows like that will disintegrate the moment they touch my shield!"

Arrow didn't respond.

He drew the bowstring to its limit.

His genius mind calculated wind trajectory, air density, and sound resonance in less than a second.

Then he released.

SWUSSH!

Strangely, none of the arrows were aimed at Sirius.

One embedded itself in the ceiling above her.

One struck the steel wall to her left.

The last ricocheted off the floor before lodging into her right side.

Together, they formed a perfect triangle around her.

"A sharpshooter missing his shot? What a joke!" Sirius scoffed, preparing to unleash her ultrasonic sphere.

Arrow clenched his fist.

"You're too loud. Time to be quiet."

TIIIIIIIIINGGGG!!!

The three arrows suddenly resonated.

They emitted anti-frequency sound waves that collided directly with Sirius' dome.

Basic physics when two sound waves with opposing frequencies meet, they cancel each other out.

"Ukh?! W-What's happening?!" Sirius panicked.

Her absolute defensive dome vanished instantly.

The massive ultrasonic sphere in her hands dispersed into nothing.

Her internal audio systems glitched violently under the anti-frequency disruption.

Arrow had already prepared one final arrow.

This time a pure, deep-blue energy arrow.

"Download complete in three… two… one…" he murmured.

ZRAAAASSH!

The arrow was released. Too fast to dodge.

It sliced through the air, grazing Sirius' cheek

and then

JLEB!

It pierced deep into the steel wall behind her, pinning through the collar of her armor and cloak.

A surge of bio-electric shockwave flowed from the arrow, instantly paralyzing her entire nervous and mechanical systems.

Sirius hung there, unable to move or speak, her eyes locked onto Arrow in horror.

Ding.

A soft chime came from the holographic display. 100%.

Arrow lowered his bow.

He walked calmly past Sirius, then pulled out the specialized arrow embedded in the server's core.

It shrank into a finger-sized flash drive, which he casually slipped into his pocket.

"Data secured," Arrow said through his communicator.

He adjusted his collar slightly, turned around, and walked away.

without even sparing a glance at Sirius, who hung helplessly against the wall.

"Mission complete."
