Chapter 43 - calming the monster

At the bottom of the hangar crater, Tora's insane laughter still echoed throughout the area.

He slowly bent down, picking up his twin axe that had fallen alongside him when he slammed Vega into the ground, then rested it on his back.

Without his blindfold, with a pair of glowing crimson eyes, Tora charged straight into the thousands of The Axiom's reserve troops before him.

This was not a battle.

This was pure slaughter.

Tora tore through their defensive lines with his bare hands.

He grabbed a cyborg by the head and crushed it like a soda can.

He ripped off an enemy's robotic arm and used it to impale another soldier.

Blood, black oil, and metal fragments scattered through the air.

The Axiom troops fired thousands of laser shots, but Tora did not care in the slightest.

The pain in his body had already been consumed by madness.

He continued mutilating everything in front of him while laughing horrifically.

"HAHAHAHA! DIE! DIE!"

WHOOSSHHH!

Amid the massacre, a shadow suddenly shot out from the entrance corridor.

Rare sprinted forward, his eyes widening at the chaos before him.

Without hesitation, Rare leaped into the air and swung Excalibur with all his strength, attempting to slash Tora down and stop him.

CLAAANKK!!!

With reflexes beyond reason, Tora instantly pulled his gigantic axe from his back and blocked Rare's strike using only the handle of his weapon.

The shockwave from the collision of the two massive weapons blasted away the remaining soldiers around them.

"What's wrong with you, Tora?! What happened to you?!" Rare shouted, struggling with all his might against the pressure from Tora's axe handle. "Who the hell removed your blindfold?!"

Rare briefly glanced past Tora's shoulder.

At the bottom of the crater, he saw chunks of flesh and metal completely torn apart, Vega's remains.

Rare's eyes twitched in horror. Whoever pushed Tora into this state had definitely experienced hell already.

But that brief moment of distraction proved fatal.

Tora, having completely lost his sanity, let out a savage growl. The muscles in his arms swelled as he pushed his physical strength to the absolute limit, then he swung his axe forward with pure brute force.

BOOOOMM!!

Rare was sent flying backward.

His body crashed through several layers of the satellite's steel walls in succession.

The impact was so devastating that the entire structure of The Axiom satellite violently trembled!

In another corridor, Arrow, who had been running toward the rendezvous point, felt the insane tremor.

"What the hell was that?! Don't tell me…"

Arrow immediately accelerated and arrived at the lower hangar's center.

His eyes widened as he saw Rare rising from the rubble, desperately trying to block Tora's berserk axe swings.

"Damn it! He's gone berserk!" Arrow instantly drew his bow and fired a barrage of energy arrows at Tora's joints to lock down his movements.

But Tora was like a merciless monster.

He kept charging relentlessly, making both Arrow and Rare struggle desperately just to contain the destructive power of their own comrade.

Amid the panic and deadly clash between allies… the atmosphere suddenly changed.

Slow footsteps echoed from the ruined entrance.

The Axiom soldiers who had been preparing to attack Tora suddenly froze.

Their mechanical bodies trembled in fear.

Scyte casually walked into the hangar.

The cold blade of his iron scythe scraped against the floor.

And impaled on the curved tip of the scythe… was Altair's severed head, the leader of The Axiom, his eyes still wide open in terror.

Scyte casually tossed the head onto the floor, letting it roll toward the remaining soldiers.

Their morale instantly shattered upon seeing their supreme leader dead in such a gruesome manner.

However, Scyte's smug grin immediately vanished when he looked toward the center of the room.

His eyes widened in shock.

"Hey… are you kidding me?! Tora went completely insane?!" Scyte cursed.

Arrow, who was desperately dodging Tora's axe swings, noticed Scyte's arrival.

His tactical mind immediately kicked into motion.

"Oi, Scyte! Tear your clothes and cover his eyes!" Arrow shouted while gasping for breath.

CRASH!!

Tora smashed a support pillar right beside Arrow.

"Hurry up!!" Arrow barked again.

Scyte did not waste a second.

Without hesitation, he tore off the lower part of his robe and black shirt.

With blinding speed that even Tora's eyes could not follow, Scyte dashed straight through the distance between them.

He leaped onto Tora's gigantic back.

Before Tora could even turn around and crush him, Scyte's hands moved at superhuman speed, wrapping the torn black cloth over Tora's eyes and tying it tightly behind his head.

"Go to sleep, idiot," Scyte hissed.

Instantly, Tora's laughter stopped.

The gigantic muscles that had been tensed wildly suddenly relaxed.

The twin axes raised high in the air slowly lowered.

The murderous aura that had filled the hangar vanished, and the atmosphere returned to normal.

Tora stood motionless for several seconds, breathing heavily.

"Ugh…" Tora held his head with one hand and groaned softly. "Tch… my head… hurts like hell, damn it."

Scyte jumped down from Tora's back and let out a relieved sigh while dusting off his now slightly torn clothes.

"Huft… that's why you shouldn't get used to removing the seal. You trying to flatten an entire satellite with the rest of us too?!"

"I'm not the idiot who removed it!" Tora barked back.

Arrow lowered his bow, finally letting out a relieved breath as well.

Meanwhile, Rare walked over while dragging Excalibur behind him, giving a faint smile despite his clothes being covered in dust and debris.

"Thank goodness, Tora… you're back." Rare glanced toward the remaining Axiom soldiers still trembling in fear at the sight of Altair's head on the floor. "…now we can finally go home, right?"
