The couple spent thirty minutes in the night market before they left.
Rebecca's expression was bright as they returned to the car.
"Today was the best." She smiled wistfully, her face pressed against the car's window as Anderson drove out.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" He asked, and she turned to him nodding.
"Let's do this again, okay?" She smiled.
"As you wish."
While the two happily drove home, trouble brewed in another part of the city.
Carl was sitting on his couch, his robe opened with a glass of red wine in one hand while he scrolled through his phone on the other hand.
Suddenly, a call cut through his scrolling. Seeing the caller id, he sat up straight, as a bead of sweat rolled from his forehead.
Swallowing, he picked the call.
"How's your progress with Rebecca?"
The voice floated from the other end. There was no greeting. Just straight to the point. The action was just like the person on the other end.
"No progress." He answered hesitantly.
