Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: I Want to Become a Madman!

Walking out of the house at 453 Third Avenue, Durin felt very melancholic.

The sounds of arguments, street vendors hawking, children laughing, and the roar from distant factories—every sound that entered Durin's ears seemed extraordinarily noisy to him; his world felt as if he were the only one in it.

His mind gradually emptied, and his thoughts began to become chaotic.

In fact, Durin always felt that his recent life was a bit dull.

But he couldn't quite put his finger on why...

He sat staring blankly, beginning to recall the past half-year since he transmigrated, from his initial ambition, believing he could lead the trend, win over all the female heroes of Valoran, and have beautiful love stories with them that could be compiled into poems.

He once thought he could gain advantages through his identity as a transmigrator, but unfortunately, his understanding of the official lore of League of Legends in his previous life was superficial. Moreover, as someone who transmigrated to Zaun, he was a low-level individual and an unregistered resident.

He truly had no status to speak of. For major events that changed the course of Valoran, ordinary people like Durin were simply too insignificant.

Since he was powerless, he would strive for the daily necessities of life.

Thus, for the past half-year, Durin had lived in Zaun, a society similar to the First Industrial Revolution, with such a calm belief, until today.

The only thing worth worrying about might be how much money to earn each day, toiling alongside other Zaun low-level residents, eating and living together. Sometimes Durin would vaguely forget that he had actually transmigrated into the world of League of Legends. Only the sun, unseen all day, and the haze that enveloped the lower levels, which would make his throat burn upon inhalation, and the twisted brass everywhere, reminded Durin that this was another world.

Durin even had the thought that perhaps living out his life this way would be a good choice.

But after Durin had been to Piltover, he was no longer content. The pride in his bones, once a transmigrator, was reawakened. That prosperous city was no different from a modern metropolis.

He wanted sunlight!

He wasn't a rat who would forever live in the Lower District, never seeing the sun!

But if things continued like this, wanting to buy a house of his own in Piltover by simply muddling through was absolutely impossible.

It was this idea of muddling through that also made Durin feel his recent life was somewhat dull, until Kreslin the Mage suddenly dismissed him today, and he completely erupted.

He was unwilling!

He refused to let his life become a stagnant pool!

Before today, Durin actually had no desire to participate in the mainstream forces of the League of Legends universe. Firstly, he knew his own limitations; he was not the kind of heroic figure who could turn the tide. Secondly, in this high-dimensional world with frequent major events, living the life of an ordinary person might be the happiest thing.

But now, this damned world slapped him hard and poked him in the nose, saying, "Slack off? Don't even think about it!"

All those words Kreslin said when dismissing him boiled down to one meaning: You're too weak! You're not worthy!

He had to accept this fact, because this was Zaun; there was no labor bureau, and no concept of N+1 compensation.

So now, facing Kreslin's ruthless dismissal, all he could do was grit his teeth and swallow it.

But the current helplessness didn't mean he would resign himself to fate forever!

He, Durin, also wanted to be able to wear neat and luxurious clothes like those high-and-mighty Piltoverianss, without worrying about getting stained by the oil and grime discharged from Zaun's alchemical factories;

He wanted to be able to eat fresh seafood at every meal, have beautiful female waitresses dance and play music for him, and even have afternoon tea daily with Piltover's councilors and nobles;

He wanted to be able to buy a house of his own in Piltover, either in the Strait District or the Academy District, as long as he could open his window every morning and see the sunlight, smell the fresh air, and no longer be woken by noise at night!

Durin still remembered that luxurious carriage and the beautiful noble young lady sitting inside. Durin also wanted to travel without relying on his own two feet anymore!

All this Running back and forth during this period had already made Durin feel exhausted!

He couldn't go on like this anymore!

Durin yearned from the bottom of his heart for a multitude of wives and concubines, and for the future beautiful Piltover Enforcer Caitlyn and the future Piltover Enforcer Captain Vi to smile at him.

He also wanted the blue-hatted Piltover Guard to patrol his house 24 hours a day, and for them to remove their hats and bow in respect when they saw him.

He even wanted to share tea with Lady Gray, the true power behind Piltover.
